No you don't have to change the water that frequently. Every few months or so unless you are messy and drop shit in the water

Nice. What is the point of the heating pad do you have to heat the water for the humidity? In hydroponics they don't want the water hot.

Heating pad? You mean aquarium heater? It's to keep the temperature of the fruiting chamber warm even during cold months. The mushrooms aren't growing in the water so idk why you mention hydroponics.

I mentioned the hydro because of water temperature but it's summer no aquarium heaters now!

How long do you guys find Pan LC is good for? Asura said to knock it up with a few wedges and let it go for 5 days before first use. Obviously it doesn’t store well in the fridge.

I'm probably the only one here using LC...and I am not using LC anymore 5 days is how long it will take a solid culture to grow out. It can take way longer.
You can store a sample of the LC in a vacutainer, but my results with reviving the sample has been mixed. I like one and done for LC.

Thanks to A.K.A
I went ahead and cleaned up the pan cyan.
Transferred it to sabouraud dextrose agar which I managed to get from a friend
This was taken in the afternoon. Coming out nicely
8 hours later, it has expanded rather quickly

I've heard that some fast growing strains tends to overlay the casing and not many pins will form.
Any opinion whether this strain could potentially cause an overly or is it too early to tell ?

Lieutenant Pan said: It seemed in the thread I was reading that RR didn't want people scraping and messing with the casing layers. Obviously it's working out for you. There's more than one way to bbq chicken haha.
And coversall. I've seen that type of automated setup and I wanted to try it but I saw a lot of complaints how it causes more issues. Something to do with the water getting old I forget. I've seen some people not recommend a SGFC for low humidity areas. I believe in Pastys method the most because the man likes scarface.
An FC like this is not advised for cubes because the hassel isn't needed. You can fruit them easily without, however, with pans it's a different story. This is really a 'leave what you've learnt about cubes at the door situation.'
Reading your other posts, and forgive me if this is rude, but you seem a little confused on the FC situation. It warrants reading over a couple of times to make sure you understand A) what the FC entails, and B) why each of those parts are included, like what they contribute towards the fruiting conditions that pans need.

I've used pan LC that was over a month old. I'll try and remember the details.

Yeah so these jars:
Were noc'd with old LCs. The good one was pan cyan texas and the not so great ones were pan cambo, which I have recently found out should be from thailand. We had some really chilly night while I was fruiting these so I'm sure my FC got way too cold at times. Which could have contributed to the poor pan cambo growth.

I think the heater is mainly not to keep the chamber warm, it's to saturate the passing air with water vapour more so then it can condense on the fruits.

That's still pretty good innings for a jar. I think I went through a whole bad of shi#t to pull that yield off, which is not super efficient.

Well I am definitely keen to see this new write-up. Any pana-leaks or shroom-rumours to be released so far? You haven't gone back to pasteurization have you?
