I was afraid you would say that. But would know any substitute for peat moss?
Everything I find here is peat free
Thanks a lot for your reply. Much appreciated

Nice job. I can't wait for the day I have some pan pins. I don't know why, but I put pans up on this fucking pedestal in my head and never got around to spawning any. That, and I really don't feel like busting out the SGFC. I wish they were easier to grow in monotubs.

Yeah me too
My mono experiment isn’t going well. Everything went like normal but it just won’t pin.
I’ve tried all the tricks that usually work, letting it dry a little and then flooding it. No luck yet.

Nec D tray overlaying like a motherfucker. Everything looked really good up until this point It's also turning kinda yellow I'm not sure what that even means Day 4 after casing

Crank humidity for a day or so and raise temps sometimes you can get a full pinset to fire right up thru the overlay

Thank goodness this thread finally came back up. Needing some input on what I've got going on over here.

Cyan Jamaica on oats. Looks like a small bit of bacteria on the top.

Bisporous

Cyan Hawaii on agar

Bisporous on a manure brf cake.

Jamaica on manure cake
Theres a couple others but thats the main gist of whats going on. I've got a few of these cakes that are about to be done and I'm not really sure what I wanted to do with them. What would ya'll suggest? The Jartha is all set up and ready to go for the most part. I just wanted to get mycelium going. Then is there any part of that Hawaii culture on the agar that you think could be used? Everything seems to be going rather slow. I've had to redo some because of mold.

Thanks a lot Jack. I'll have a go at it. I'm actually going to try a few things and see what works best as I'm planning on making 4 small trays.
I've read that 50/50 coir/vermiculite and cactus mix/vermiculite should be fine as well.
Therefore, on each tray I'll use the following materials for casing, 50/50 ratio:
* peat mix/verm * coir/verm * Sand/verm * Cactus mix/verm
Hopefully at least one of them will provide lots of nice and healthy fruits .
Thank you once again for the advice.
Peace

Congrats on your first pans Regis that’s exciting. If this will be your first time eating pans, prepare for the best mushroom trip you’ve ever had. These things are incredible

Sweet thanks Jake. Not sure if I can do much about humidity in my jcm, but I’ll definitely try cranking up the heat

Thanks! I kinda neglected this grow and cased them to late and sent them to fruiting to late, but they didn't seem to mind. Got 230g wet from the first flush.
