thank you JCM and tiptrippy going with option too i still have verm and
i got extra lime to bring the pH up.

first time growing pan cyan still gathering data and material.

noob question

why pan cyan need peat moss+ verm casing layer?

coir holds a lot of water(|but according to a lot of TC and people on this thread coir don't do well with pan cyan)

so peat moss+ verm can hold more water than coir?
even @ 1/4" wont it become too moist?
can verm alone be use as casing layer?

i never worked with peat moss or casing layer, grown cubes without casing layer

Pans need a non-nutritious casing layer because they will consume a more nutritional casing layer like coir and overlay will be the death of the fruiting surface

that makes a lot of sense, you guys are growing pan cyan in martha green house tent?

or can i use this contraption for winter nights it puts in hot mist keeps temperature at 26c or 80f and converts 20ml of water to mist, auto shuts off after 6 minutes, using for cubes for now

or just setup martha?

You may be able to use that until you get the martha set up. Only way to know for sure is to test it out

i got martha was using for gourmet but i think for pan cyan need warm mist? i got cold humidifier, do it need venting like gourmet every 6 hours exchange of air and humidity? or just keep pumping fresh air and warm mist?

and thank you so much i can finally put spores to agar

JOC PAN TEK

JOC Martha aka Jartha

The aspect of this tek that really makes it a "JOC" tek is the cycling of your chambers humidity. Pans love evaporation taking place on the surface of the substrate. Not only does it induce pinning but it encourages the fruits to grow bigger fuller and thicker. To achieve this evaporation you need 2 things: FAE and heat.

Once you crank up the temp you will notice your sub will quickly dry out, and while you can hand mist several times a day to keep it going before the pins arrive u once they do if you mist them you will kill them. This means you must water by hand with a syringe and if your cranking your evap you will be hand watering all day lol.

So the way the jartha works is the fogger kicks on filling the tent. Then, while the fogger is still running, I have the fan (a bathroom fan down low than sucks air in thru the hepa filter mounted to the top of the tent) set to kick on so that it drags the fog down into the casings of the trays (the fogger is also up top feeding down). Then the fogger kicks off and the fan continues to run for 45 seconds  to 1min (I'm constantly adjusting times slightly as the room rh changes) pulling in a bunch of hot dry air into the tent down across the trays and leaving the tent a dry hot place. This is when most of your evaporation takes place.

The tent will sit like this for about 10 min then the fogger will kick back on and the re-hydration stage starts up and the cycle repeats. now I can crank my evap and it waters itself without frying my fruits.

106qt.
No it doesn't. I bought one when I first started with pans trying to follow your tek but I had already purchased the 70qt tote for my first FC and it wasn't big enough for one propogation dome. So instead I just found a couple large 2" deep lasagna trays. They hold 4qt sub and 1qt spawn perfectly with a little room for casing

ok cool. i think mine are around the 120 area. i wish to hell i could find a big enuff one to fit 2 of my large propagation trays tho. but 2 of them lasagna trays are about the same size as 1 of the propagation trays so u can def pull a nice amount outta that set up for sure๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Hi everyone, I have been cultivating pan cyans with success using very simple methods: spores to agar, agar to LC, LC to grains, grains to manure/verm 70/30, case with 5050 verm/cactus soil and fruit in an unmod. I have nearly 100% success rate and good yields. However, none of my fruits are dropping spores. I have tried to print dozens or even hundreds of caps but no visible spores are dropped. Does anyone know why this might be the case? Thanks!

Give them more FAE and they should drop like crazy. If not, blame the culture.

i am fascinated with your setup. i just got nebulizer hooked to fruiting chamber but i am still studying
JOC Martha aka Jartha

pan cyan requires a complete new setup, the only thing i could salvage was martha, exhaust fan and cow manure from cubes( its more cheaper than coir in my country)

I think today is day 5 in jcm style tub. How does it look? Too wet/dry?
I shredded the peat and used large verm. The peat moss I bought was super cheap but compacted.

Same in the USA.

For about the same price I can get one brick of coir or 150lbs of composted manure lol.
