That’s unfortunate JCM I always have very good luck with Texas I feel it is one of the most consistently easy strains to grab a good performing isolate from and one of the strains that will give me a canopy from MS more often than not, The last pan tray I ran was TX

lol jcm those are like tamp pans.
My necd was...not great. I totally neglected it once I saw what was coming up which didn’t help.

Probably dumb but I grabbed a clone to roll the dice.
Also I’ve got an Aussie clone running in a mono right now to see if I can get anything to happen. It would be nice to be able to run pans that easy.

Did you all see the Psilocybin Cup results. Was shocked how low on the list Pan cyan’s were. Considering they rock my world when I eat them (never tried mutant cubes though)
Edit: here is the link to the results Alan posted if you haven’t seen them. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27277419

There are no Panaeolus on that list. I assume you are confusing blue meanies with pan cyans. That's pretty common. Blue meanies are a variety of Cubensis and also a nickname some people have stupidly given Pan Cyans

Hmmm yeah that’s what I thought? I guess I’ve always thought when someone said blue meanies they meant pan cyan’s???
That’s why scientific names are better! Although it’s cool to see the crazy strain development people put into cubes!

Mushroom cup???
Now that sounds interesting. Yeah pans would destroy cubes but I’m sure they’d have to do different categories.

ya jake i have had a good texas grow before on the first time i ran them a while back when i first started playin with pans. but i didnt print any of them and why i didnt i have no idea. i had got the print i used from covers and while it was nice and dark it was on the smaller side and i ran 5 sepperate cultures from 5 different areas off the same print and every single one came out either lookin like the wild pubes/tamps😂 or the below average sized fruits i showed in the pics. so im just chalkin that one up to that just bein what that particular print is producing🤷🏼 but ima give them another go hopefully soon from a new/different print of them that he said hel get me in the future. cuz the fruits he grew looked really good for the most part. im sure i could have cloned from the better ones i had and gotten a decent average one to work with but i didnt c it as worth the time/effort as i know i can do better off ms. so hopefully il b givin the texans another go soon

glad to have the shroomery back!
here's how my cfl tray turned out. They were all really small fruits I think I was only yielding like 4g dry per flush but got a solid 4 flushes out of it.

I tried them and love them. A half gram felt like a strong 2.5g of cubes and the whole trip was just much better imo.
i'm excited about these Nec D jars almost fully colonized @ 8 days

Yea I honestly don't know what to think about the 3%+ results. I thought it was downright impossible for Cubes to be that potent. Last time I read an article about Pan Cyans, it mentioned something like 3.5% (although that may not have been TOTAL alkaloids).
But on 9/20 there should be a new cup, with different species this time.

Hello People. Spawned these first pan jars to coir manure vermiculite. Grain is corn.
Not seeing any kind of knotting. They are getting 24-25c, I've given them high humidity, and constant air flow.
Why are these not pinning? Neither of them look good to me
Spawned 1w and a few days ago

tiptrippy said: That sub looks way too dense and overly saturated. Pan mycelium needs very light and fluffy substrate and casing layer in order to colonize properly and start forming pins. I may be wrong but I don't think any of the guys with Panaeolus teks use c/v/poo. That mixture of stuff is just too dense. Most people use poo/straw mix and the straw helps keep the sub light. Sorry m8 but I don't think you're gonna get that to fruit

I missed this thread!
I dont say much but I will say thank you. First pan fruit.
Had a great pinset, kept it too humid, Almost everything aborted, shifted the tub lid and got it to 85-95% and I got at least a dose of mutants and the matured pictured fruit.
Have the makings of a fresh pinset.
Stoked to trip, May will be my first Panaeolus experience.
Anyway, I learned here, from you, so thank you.

thank you for reply and clarifying the difference.
your thoughts on this option 1

COMPOSITION: peat + expanded vermiculite + limestone.
it does not say at what ratio but PH stabilized between 5.5 and 6.
option 2

composition sphagnum peat moss free of impurities and contaminants, PH stabilized between 5.5 and 6

Yes go with option #1 but like jcm said you need to use extra lime to bring the pH up
