They'll be ready by then. Those are crazy fast. Covers got them from me and I got those from Jake. So in 2 generations they made a trip around the world.

I think I found the easiest way to clone pans. Just snap a pin with tweezers dip it in 3% H2O2 for 10 min and drop it on a plate. I did that a few days ago and it worked great. No contam or anything.

The texans were a real pleasure to work with as my fist pans. They were everything they should have been. Fast, strong, and fruited well. They seemed pretty resiliant to me as well, as they fruited well under poor conditions compared to the unknown cambos I ran next to them!
Texans on the left, cambos on the right. Same cakes mix and fruited at the same time. There's a bunch of other variables as well, but I haven't sat down to work them out, plus I didn't take good enough notes!

So Idk if anyone remembers but I promised to look into the pan mycelium growkits available on the Dutch market. Day after I said so dude who sells them gifts me one. There really is no such thing as coincidence in life
First flush was ok. 56 grams wet (it's a 1200 ml kit). Forgot to get a pic though.
This here is today. Second flush almost done:
Few days before:
Gotta say I'm pretty impressed with this result. Made sure to not give it optimal conditions and keep to the description, without any heating, just manually breathing the bag a few times a day. It's in a filterbag, on a table at rt (21C)..
Second flush went a little better. This time they grow on top of the sub at least
Best case we get clones, prints and a few trips out of this. Only thing worrying me now is if the agar is gonna be on time to clone too.
How long can you keep these in a fridge before cloning? Have agar and lme coming in in a couple days.
Here's hoping making my own lme agar will change my game enough to deal with this species. Spent a damn year figuring out how to finally build my automated fc that sits unused now, so this better work

Nice! They look pretty big, but maybe it's just perspective?

They sure have fat stipes but the pic with the pins there's perspective involved yeah. When I harvest I'll make some mote pics. Waiting for spores

They dry up pretty fast. You can try to store a piece of fruit in H2O2 in the fridge. And when you pull it out put it straight in the plate.

How do these respond to top fruiting? Is it possible with pans?

So I hit those grain jars a week ago and only 1 has shown any growth. But even at that it has only colonized 2 grains of oats. The weird part is that even the ones I put to agar aren't growing anything, and I mean not even bacteria. I'm not sure what to make of it. At this point should I...
Just wait longer? Go ahead and start over with more jars and maybe include the millet?
I understand syringes being dirty and all but I don't really understand no growth on 7 jars and 7 agar plates with 4 different syringes.

As you said syringes are a gamble. What are your temps? Spores will take a few days to germinate, lets say ~5 days depending on temperature. Also initial growth might be slow and any contamination riding along won't help. You saying that your agar isn't showing anything after a week is not a good sign unless you are keeping them below normal room temp (< 68F)
If that 1 jar ends up fully colonized then that won't be a guarantee that your culture is clean and you might end up getting mold before 1st flush, but you seem to know the risk, all you can do is ride it out and see what is coming off it. Keep trying agar before shooting up any more jars.

I've wasted several entire sleeves trying to get syringes to germinate on agar. It's just a complete waste of time and resources IMO. You're better off using BRF pucks to germinate and transfer to agar.
Prints are preferable, but the pucks work really damn well if syringes are all you have.
