Beautiful clusters there. Good job.

Overlay has always hit my casings to a degree at a depth of 1/4"-1/2" even in my GH, which has more than adequate FAE. I started consolidating my subs before casing a few years ago with pans, and it has stopped overlay period. Every single casing run I have done since starting that procedure has resulted in a good even colonization, nice pin sets, and better overall yeilds. That's just a procedure I do every grow now and gives me consistent results. My 2 cents.

This is a great thread, nice grows everyone!

I was thinking this, that late casing could help overlay. The myc wouldn't have as much opportunity to colonize the casing. Thanks, peace frog!
:takingnotes:

I'll be trying this soon

I consolidate my subs for 3-6 days. It all depends on how the sub looks. The surface of the sub will really thicken up after that time and will often produce more pronounced bubble like growth.

Are they opening up early or do they normally look like that.

Yep completely normal they open up very young and continue to grow. They will only start sporulating once the caps are starting to plane out and the gills change to a darker color.

Nice job!

No, something's not right..

Here's my old cambo:

&& old Jamaicans:

Judging from the appearance of your pins I'd say tht your humidity is too high.
Look at the caps they're moist/wet.  They shouldn't be wet.  "Dry caps, wet feet"
Notice the soggy appearance of some of them.

Increase FAE and they should be fine.
Don't worry about it going alittle dry.
