Think these will be ready tomorrow? Do the caps open when they're ready?

Just let the clone grow out on the agar more. It should eventually outgrow the bacteria and start showing healthy myc. I just had the same the thing happen to me with my first and only jambo clone.

You have asked the same question yesterday, why in such a hurry? Well I can imagine why , but depending on your temperatures and culture quality pans can take 4-10 days from pins to maturity.
I call pans mature when the caps have opened, lost most of their tan colour and they just started to sporulate, sometimes they can be a bit stubborn with the spore drop though.

Lol prob day after tomorrow.
The caps get big and way lighter. You’ll know when they’re done.

Yeah those are many days off. My last round grew out really slow and I think it took 7 days to mature from pins. They looked just like that.

Thank you Jake I had no idea about low nutes for clones!
I was flaming between cuts ... but my approach is typically to just split the end of the stipe then tear it in half. Maybe that disrupts the tissue too much. I’ll switch it up on the nutes and work on my technique.

A sharp blade with fine precision movement works best for me. I take 4-5 pieces from the mushroom I'm cloning onto one dish. At least one or two are from a red hot blade that slices a thin piece off the very top of the mushroom and then a very small piece is carved out, being careful not to go too deep to the gills, flame sterilizing the blade again after cutting the thin slice off. I'll cut the stem in half and work with each half separately as to not expose the inside to the air all at once, splitting it in half very carefully and trying to keep the insides exposed towards the flowhood. If I feel any of the blade or piece I'm taking touches the outside at all, I will flame it and try again with a new piece.
Very small and precise tiny scrapes with a sharp blade are the key for me. I've had about 90%-95% success from about 15 clones now doing this way. They are certainly a pain to clone.

So, I wont be able to get manure of the proper casing or a free tub until a few weeks from now, should I stick my colonized pan spawn into the fridge? I know they are all about momentum... might have to try again another time if this doesn't work out.

lmfao yeah I know, right?
Nah, when I heard 3 days, I thought holy crap...that's tomorrow. But they seemed to have a long way to go in one day. Of course, I'm not banging out master blaster cultures (I'm mostly clueless about pans).
btw that avatar is amazing haha

Has anybody seen anything like this before?? It looks like just caps formed all over and now there’s a handful of real pins just starting to show up.

I had the hose bent a little too much and it filled with water overnight blocking the fog, luckily I caught it before it got fatal.

Hey A.k.a I bet there's some contam with the mycelium itself. I've never had it happen to me but a friend of mine did, a couple times actually.. He got some similars to these, but at that time he was just starting to grow mushrooms so he did everything with MS syringe, with no agar work, so my guess is that it could be bacterial.

How many days should I let a pan jar consolidate after full colonization
I read several replies suggesting it's important

Trying to get my substrate ready for this CFL jar, but it's looking nothing like what I've seen posted in this thread
200g hpoo, 100g straw, watered to field capacity
This is my hpoo. I think it wasn't very aged, but I shredded it and layed it out to dry in the sun for a day then blended in a food processor.
I was going for a 50/50 mixture but didn't add in the next 100g of straw when I saw how straw heavy it was looking.
Any input?

The sub needs to consolidate not the jar. For some reason pans don’t do well a lot of the time if you let grain sit.

that actually just happened to me a month ago. the entire texture of the substrate was pins. i think the fruiting conditions were too good. but about 75% of them aborted.
