I had weird one recently. Super clear broth, nice myc growth in the LC, colonised like all my others. I think it was even made from the same plate as another LC that is knotting right now. I injected it into a pan-cake with all the ingredients I have used in the past, plus a small amount of ground coffee. The myc recovery was fast, and initial growth looked good, then boom. total stall out. The pots have sat for over a week with no growth at all.
Did the coffee kill it? I PC'd the pan-cakes for like >90 mins at 15 psi.
Did I just strike out and get a bum culture?
Reckon there was something lurking in the LC that wasn't visable?
I didn't test the LC on agar, because I'm lazy...

2nd flush fruits seem to be almost fully matured already and they are dwarves.. I see fuzzy feet and stunted fruits. If these were cubes that would tell me they are over saturated and lacking FAE. Does that still apply to pans?
Well it turns out they were most likely stunted because they were fighting trich. Harvested another 131g and tossed them all. Moving into my new place this weekend so I'll be down for a while waiting for new cultures to grow on agar. I'll update when I test these guys out

I don't think it was really necessary to throw these they looked awesome and fine to eat. If you want to play it safe next time you could dehydrate them with heat, or even make some tea with it and store it in the freezer. Take it in account for next time!

I think he means he tossed the substrates, not the mushrooms.

Haha I definitely did not toss the fruits out. They went into my dehydrator for 5 hours and then stored safely in a cool dry place for future usage.
I tossed out the contaminated substrates

So last week I saw a video from a vendor site on pan cult.
He had a little tub with no lid that he kept in a grow bag and all he did was open it once a day, pull it in and out to cycle air, and then mist the sides of the bag. I was thinking this is garbage the entire time until it cut to harvest when the thing was full of massive fruits. I’m talking like prob 5-10g size.
Anybody tried anything like this? I’m gonna give it a shot.

You can buy kits like that over here from NL. Its how I got my first print. Just a colonised sub in a food container in a spawn bag. Hit a miss on quality tho
Sorry my response was to do with cubes. I've seen the pan kits but never tried them.

I remember seeing eats do some invitro pans in a bag that he didn’t really do much to for FAE. They looked great considering. He might have cut some slits in the bag, can’t remember for sure. It was forever ago.

Lol was one of the first to try with the pan kits. Ogre Boy strain. It should have had a perforated bag (it didn't tho) so I put it in a tote and still got some fruits after choking and drowning them back then. (Hey I was totally new at this)
Anyway here's the pics from 2 yrs back:

They're supposed to be better these days. I'll research. But I'm trying jake asura joc teks first lol

Didn’t somebody have I think a Hawaiian pan a few months back that had almost black caps?? It looked awesome I wonder if it was just a one off or repeatable.
My Hawaiian "Rainbow Eucalyptus" Pan Cyan had nearly black caps when they were young but gradually lightened up as they matured. I'll see if I can find a picture...
here you go:

Shoot me a PM if you'd like a print. I'm starting to get my act together.. you may receive one in a month or so.

Anyone else finds their pans turning to a more solid white compared to their translucent nature early on?
Here are my Hawaii jars
How it looked early on Translucent:
Look how wispy it was during the first days. Like a baby

Then it begun "solidifying" into a more crem color:

And finally, they got their white color that they still retain now they are recovering from a shake:
1 Day before shaking it:

And Right before the shake, compared with the 2 I already shook:

So it went from spiderweb-esque to a more solid white.
Excuse the oil paint effect.

Has anyone ever used goat poo? Contemplating getting a goat, not just for poo but it would be a handy bonus.
Edit; Nvm, found a thread on it. 15yrs old. Says you can but it's not ideal and produces nowhere near the same yields as grass/hay/oat fed horse manure.
