I've never used straw. But did have to fuck with the sterile sub recipe a bunch to get it the right texture. And then I get a new batch of horse shit that behaves different, and have to start again. Pasteurized sub has worked way better for me in that regard (again, without straw).

Maybe the gigantic inoculum BH uses has something to do with it? 140 mL is a shitload, and his is made at 4% malt extract. If you get that well distributed, the myc just doesn't have that far to go.

I've never used Straw, I use Cowshit + Sawdust, which can be very dense, but never caused problems with colonization, even with deep substrates. You just gotta make sure it's not too wet.

Hey guys, quick one here, what's the oldest Pan print you've ever used (or witnessed it worked)?

Time to harvest soon. How are you doing it without ruining the surface for subsequent flushes? Cut, twist and pull?

My manure states that it has been heat treated for pathogens.
When companies do that, do they mean sterilization temps or pasteurization?
Also how does your manure smell after pasteurizing it and during colonization? Mine had a sweet smell before past, smells earthy and fishy after.

If your manure product was cheap then it was probably just composted.

I post a lot off AA, but I cannot let this one go, one plate, 3 years ago, cloned, and 2.5 years later, still going like no tomorrow. Probably 25+ agar transfers along the way, to keep her going, but, the most fruitful, incredible high. Can't even touch these fuckers without bruising like they got ran over. Myc on agar bruises in 24 hours in fridge, but very viable. One plate- to one clone -  250 tubs later. These ain't  no tooth picks- first flush, one tub, gonna be a long week- like every week. They are ass kickers. Honestly, like one in a million,my babies.

Yes thanks! Just wanted to check how it does compare to my tubs. Regarding level and color of liquid on the bottom.

I thought your sub might be floating in there with all the water on the surface, looks like I could mist even heavier next time.

Second flush of that Wild Coast tray.
Was pretty excited by the cluster on the lower left - about 8-10 fruits,
But I just saw Asura’s...
I’m not worthy!

In general, for anyone that lays their spawn in trays, how long does it take for your mycelium to colonize the poo?

Well done psilo.

I think I’m falling in love with rye, and pasteurized sub. I don’t need love in return, just a wink.
Everyone enjoying this incredible heat wave.
