Jambos are so far the only pans that have done well on plates for long periods. Wild coast Aussie and necd all seemed to die off after a month or so.

Seems to me that would mean the boundary between tropicalis and cyans is pretty superficial. Or tropicalis is just a cyans mutation. Right? Different species can't bang as far as I know.

i store all my shit in the fridge however vented slants are much better for long term storage. i have had my jambo cultures in the fridge for over a year n a half so far and they r just as good as the day i put them in there.
pan myc is much more sensitive to the cold tho and i suggest storing in 50ml slants with a 1/4 diameter sfd vented cap then wrapped in a cpl layers of paper towels and wrapped in foil and placed inside an insulated lunch bag/cooler. also sont let the temps get lower than 38-40 i keep mine at 40 but all the wrapping and the insulated bag eliminates all condensation. atleast for me it does. and i have several slanted cultures stored and if i dont use them i transfer to new slants after a year or so

Yes they are closely related however there are microscopic Variances as well as macroscopic ones. I feel it’s pretty easy to spot them

Those are beautiful! I mean APE chonkers are defintely a sight but love those long thin stems and white domed caps. They're my favorite mushroom to look at.

I haven’t run them enough to get a good sample size but the tropicalis I grew had much smoother caps. The Cyan were all kinda wrinkled looking.

Pics of my new Pan Cyan greenhouse. Using jcm style bubblers and heaters in the bottom with double layer insulation around the outside. Doesn't quite keep the temperatures I had in the tub, but it seems to be working out ok.

That's what the cement tub underneath is for obviously.
There has only been a very shallow amount of water in the bin at any one time (about 1/8").
