Hey friends, I was hoping to get some experienced advice on a couple of plates.
These are my 2 best looking PanCyan plates. They Are T2 from print circa 2017.
I selected for wispy/thin, fast mycelium as suggested here.
One plate is very wispy and the other is thin but looks a bit stronger (to my inexperienced eye). Both are MUCH wispier than the majority of germinated colonies that were thick and tomentose. I took 17 T1, reduced to 5 T2 and these are my best 2.
I will be using a JCM style fruiting chamber and inoculating a weighed, sterilized poo sub via LC, for which I'll be trying out the JOS biopsy strategy.
Do either of these plates look good for a poke?
I'm planning a few small 5"x7" take out trays; would it be advisable to try a few sectors or is one looking like it has the most fruiting potential?
My goal would be a final yield better than 4g and not more than 10. I mostly fly solo and have a couple other small projects on the go.
Many thanks in advance, and to all you awesome folks blazing trails for folks like me to follow. You all rock. I'm learning so much here.
Without further adieu::

My Pan Hawaii syringe has been nothing but a headache. It wont even germinate contaminates on agar lol

Hey people, did anyone ever have any problems with Pan Cyans pinning? For me, everything goes fine until they need to fruit. Attempted to grow them two times, both with no results.
For the substrate I used manure + verm on the first try and manure + coco on the second try. Casing was either verm alone or verm + coco.
Both tries substrate colonized fully and had actually shrunk considerably, misted twice a day and had the lid cracked open for about 2cm for fresh air.
Waited for maybe 2 weeks, however there was no sign of pinning anywhere.
Kinda starting to lose hope...
If anyone has had the same problems and has managed to solve it, please, uncover your secrets to success.
Thanx!

I'm new to Panaelous as well.
That said there are a number of members here who have logged fantastic grows and from my research I might suggest having a look at their success and compare it to your own. I've found BlueHelix, MaryFairchild, Asura, Jakeoncid419, jcm4620 and many, many others in this thread to be extremely helpful in forming a pretty cohesive strategy.
It would probably be helpful to these folks if you described your fruiting chamber and at least the look of the mycelium you selected that gave you poor results.
Hope that helps and is a decent point in the right direction, however, I'll always defer to those with first hand knowledge.

If there is one thing about the site that seems to have gotten even better, it’s people’s willingness and excitement to share spores. It was being done 10 years ago, but I don’t recall the number of giveaways rivaling now. Very cool to see.

kinda hard to tell from them pics man but they seem to look ok. the top pic looks better from what i can see. i personally dont keep my plates in bags especially when parafilmed. i always give them a wipe down with iso in the box anyway when it comes time to use em. i have a ton of examples of good pan myc in the link in my sig that u can use as a guide

Thank you very much for the reply, I will follow your link and advice!
Also thank you for catching my rookie mistake with the bags. Makes sense. I'm being over-cautious, which is not a new thing for me. Some of the blur is from my cracked up smart phone camera glass.
LC is currently sterilizing. I'll be using your style of fruiting chamber for these and Ps. Tamp. ATL#7.
Very excited to explore some new species of mushrooms.

I have been having the same exact problem but it seems like no one knows why this happens.
2 times I have had good fast strong growth on grain jars. Spawn them to poo/straw and they eat that shit up fast then I case it and stick them in the FC and both trays stalled out and died

Hey, do you guys notice extended levels of condensation in grain jars / bags after they finished (if you don't run them further and hold them for a while) in comparison to colonization stage?

Crank ur temps 2 mid 80’s until you see pins also without straw there is a good chance ur bulk is too dense and your culture is o2 deprived, also for ur case use peat and verm 50/50 coir does not seem to work nearly as well. Follow a tek until you have success then you can start to swap mats
