Wohooooo! I'm super pumped and happy to conclude this project successfully As I can't have a proper greenhouse I've been trying a couple ghetto homemade ways trying to mimic a GH, playing around with aquarium heaters and intermittent fanning (with timer) but nothing really worked. Better said, at least nothing satisfying. I did 6 projects back then, all of them 2inch straw-manure. Four of these projects gave flushes of about 20 grams wet, and just two around 60 wet each. So I said fuck it and gave BabaYaga method a try. I did a monotub of just 1 inch deep with half quart of grain spawned mixed with around 1.5 quarts of substrate based on COIR-horse manure (50/50) pasteurized jcm style (sit for 5 days). It was cased 10 days post birth with the traditional casing recipe of peat/verm (with its pH regulated with calcium carbonate)
Its summer here. So temps are being pretty high, oscillating between 78-88F. Luckily (for the pans, not for me ) the humidity in this city is really high also, so I had to water the tub down with a syringe once (or twice, but rarely) every day. These pics are from the first flush, which gave around 130 grams wet. HUGE PROGRESS!!! The second flush gave approximately 160 wet and the third and final one 140. Then it contaminated with trich.
I didn't think this method would work so great. I will definitely stick with this method on summers, and then the rest of the year I'll try to figure out another way . Besides the tek I think a huge factor was the subsbtrate depth. I think I'm doing much better with just one inch rather than two. But in spite of it, I'll definitely repeat the first method as I'm sure I made something wrong because it was my first time with Pans. So I'll do more projects just for the sake of comparison and find out.
Thank you BabaYaga if you ever read this!

So that’s just a mono tub with no filters right? Nice success/\

Yes CE, that's right. Just a 19 quart monotub with some couple holes (of around 1/4inch), Pasty style.

i had a really hard time with monos and for what i got outta it it just wasnt worth the comstant hovering. but the fruits look good n healthy

You are right JCM, it requires some babysitting, that's a big con for some people. It's not much problem for me cause I'm just getting started with the specie so the enthusiasm is on the roof hahaha. I gotta see if I can stand it in a couple months but hey. It's the only way viable for me at least at the moment, I can't get a GH any soon so I can't complain watering it once per day. That was about it. I just had to water it down once per day (some days two, but occasionally) and luckily I didn't have any problem with aborts. Or at least I didn't notice much of them which made me worry. Also I watered it freely, I mean, not carelessly but without so much effort trying to evade every fruit inch by inch

I’m currently doing a little project right now with a mono with an installed pc fan and a bubbler box feed in across the top to distribute humidity. It’s a lot simpler than my earlier FCs. I also have a jcm tub made for some other projects. Trying to finish building my shed and it’s becoming more like an actual house with insulation and drywall and electric. Gonna give me a lot more room to do my lab work.

Thank you for this post. Coplandia information is less available and can be extremely varying on techniques. I got an lc last year for a trade but it never did anything. I just ordered prints that should arrive next week. I was thinking April for them. I have several other projects and grows going. And don't want to fuck it up.

Fuck ups are the foundation of all learning!

Awesome work gabbk, I got nothing out of a monotub set up. Just couldn't for the life of me get it to knot let alone pin!

Ohhh yesss JCM it was your method that I tried!! Kind of really hahaha, I recall trying to mimic it based on what I had on hand at the moment. It was a super cheap ghetto emulation haha you would laugh if I share the pics. I recall I wasn't a bit sure if it was gonna work I just went along with a single bubble stone turnt on every hour for 10 minutes (I didn't read the specifics on the bubble stone subject, but now I did ) and a heater constantly on 80. Now I can see why it was such a fail lol. And besides that, instead of a tray I used a 6qt shoebox without rack. Everything contained in a 19qt box. Lol imagine it. The shoebox inside the container was fucking floating on the water and almost choking the roof of the container yelling for space. I didn't want to buy new stuff at the time Now that I see the potential and beauty of Pans I will definitely invest in a bigger container and on the rest of the equipment to make everything on point this time. I'm excited now to try it properly! Loved the write up and the idea of automating the grow, thanks JCM

ya u really need the number of stones and pumps otherwise it donr work well. i get asked all the time can i only use 1 and i always say u can but it wont work well if at all😂😂 but i assure u if u added more and configure it the way its show u wont have any issue and u wont have to worry about nothin other than adding water when it gets low. but hey at least u still got some fruits in the mono. im gone about 14-16 hrs a day and i just cant b there to hover over it so i had to find a better way was all

This was spawned 11 days ago. The sub to spawn ratio is 1:4 and the substrate has 60% straw 40% horse manure and some verm.
Is it going too slow? It will need a day or two to be fully colonized and I don't know if this is suspiciously slow for pan cyans. My average temperature is around 23-24 degrees.
