Which kinds of manure can be used successfully? I know Hpoo is the most pop around here, but what about cow manure? Or chicken or goat? Because im having some difficulty getting hold of good hpoo right now. I mean can cow poo be used successfully all by its own, 70% straw 30%Cpoo

Last night I spawned 1qt of Pan Cyan to 5qt sub. Mixed it all up real good in a tote and then spooned it out into a 3.4qt pyrex dish.

For the life of me I couldn't find a propagation dome the perfect size for my FC. Everything was either just a little too large or way too small. The pyrex is the best thing I could find so I guess I'll have a bunch of wasted space in my FC. I also have about another 3qt of spawn/sub I don't know what to do with. 🤔

It worked for me with the exact same ratio.

pyrex trays r great hell if i coud find them the size of my prop dome trays id use those. i just like the domes for colonization/recovery stage cuz they work perfectly n its just a matter of takin the dome off casing then placing in the fc. but ul b jyst fine with the pyrex n tin foil

I was hoping to find a tray I could use that would take up almost all of the available space but everything is in between. I guess I'll have to get a bigger tote for my FC

If you scroll back like two weeks I asked this question and got lots of good feedback. But one quick note: don't use chicken or anything else that doesn't eat grass. Horse and cow have both been used a ton. Goat and sheep are probably fine but I haven't seen anyone use those. Right now I've got some grains colonizing that I'll be using to compare gold-standard sponsor vendor hpoo vs. organic cow manure used for gardening (much cheaper and easier to source). Will be reporting the results back here when I have something to show.

Sheep is really muddy and a bit hot compared to horse or bovine.

I've got two bags of alpaca poo waiting to be tested.
I saw someone grew with it a while back. I can get it for 50p a sack which is pretty darn good.

Cool, I will look into that! Cow manure compost is available to me, i was just wondering since compost means that there is boind to be soil in it, do I need to modify water contents for it? Asura uses 65% water in his sub, since soil would become muddy logically one must aim for lower water content with cow compost poo?

So compost can mean different things. From the different ones I've tried, I've seen wildly different products. The composted cow manure I have now basically looks a lot like a darker version of the shredded, aged hpoo that vendors charge 10x as much for (we'll see how it performs though). And then at the other end of the spectrum, we have black kow, which claims to be composted manure but as far as I can tell it is just dirt upon which a cow crapped sometime in the 1920s.
If you want to see what I mean, you can take a look at my ridiculous attempts to make it work last year:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26438355#26438355
(spoiler: it didn't work, but it was at least kind of funny to look back on)

Oh, and re: water content, composted manure definitely will require different proportions, just because it holds water differently than uncomposted manure.
