I've attempted Pan species multiple times. My first try was with pan cyan. I used manure brf cakes, everything looked good but they stalled at 50%, I left them on my dresser for 5 months and they stayed at 50% from like week 2-3. My next attempt was with Pan Cambo. I think the syringe might be bad now though. I bought it back in March, started some grain in april, but my GE hole was too big and they contamned, I have less than 1cc left of that syringe now, I tried putting it on agar in August, all the other plates I made up germinated and went to grain, the Pan Cambo didnt germinate :frown:

awesome grow fox!!  and i like the thread idea too.

i think for me personally, what is hard is recognizing the mycelium on agar.  it is whispy.  i have had some weird luck recently with it, all issues with stalling out on grains after it gets a good start.  that never happened to me before.  once it got going, it finished really fast.

what is the "powdered straw" in ur recipe?  do u grind it up yourself really fine, or is it a product for something else?

My guess would be straw he cuts himself. Theres a guide somewhere on here whrre someone puts all of their straw in a tote and cuts a hole im the lid big enough for them to put their weedwacker through, then they close the lid turn the weedwacker on amd it cuts all the straw up finely

yeah the mix is going to be coir/verm/gypsum/strawnet. my usual lol. im definitely going to try chicken poo if i can find any locally.

I'm lucky to be in an area where I can find all sorts of poo locally (chicken, cow, horse, alpaca, even camel). Do you just replace what you would put in in horse manure with chicken? or is there a specific ratio you use?

Did you seriously just type "camel"
L..O..L

How many stomachs do they have anyway?

Lol no lie, just down the road from me ON THE VERY SAME ROAD, there are three farms and a local zoo/farm, each are within a half mile of each other. I know the lady who has the alpacas, she has a huge pile mixed with alpaca and horse nuggets just sitting next to the barn, she gives it out on craigslist. I'll porbably get me some here soon, I get horse poo from someone who also lives not too far from me. But the zoo/farm (they call themselves a farm but its like a petting zoo) They have camels, goats, zebras and reindeer. Plenty of poo for me

Out of curiosity; whats your personal preference when it comes to dung?
seeing tht you have so many options. lol

I've only tried cow and hpoo so far, I used to use a ratio of 35%coir, 35% hpoo&cowpoo, 30% verm, and a handful of gypsum.
Now I use coir/hpoo/verm, but I wanna try the alpaca poo one day since I can get it, it has hpoo mixed in with it too so thats even better haha.Camel poop sounds exotic for growing, lol.

also, do you have a trip report? I keep hearing pans are DARK... Bullshit?

I've tried pan cyanescence twice. The first time was my first mushroom trip, my neighbor had them. This was the summer after we had graduated, he was selling the mushrooms for $20 a gram! He gave me a good deal on an eighth of them though  He told me you could trip off just 1 gram alone but I didnt believe him cause I had read you needed an eighth (obviously for cubes, I didnt know the diffrence at the time) I ate 2 grams! It was the craziest mushroom trip I will ever have, I just didnt know it yet. I hada  blast though, I stared at these trees in my backyard one time and the light shining through the leaves became stars and the leaves became black and had become space. I ate the last 1.5 grams about two weeks later and had about an equally as great trip. I prefer them to cubes to be honest, I dont know if its that I'm just used to the experience now but I've never had a cube trip like those two pan trips, and I've done a quarter of cubes made into tea once.

Does anyone else find Pans to be a lot more colorful than cubes? All of the cube trips I've had are very visual, but those two cyan trips I had were so much more than any cube trip Ive had. My room had the speckled ceiling stuff if you know what Im talking about, but the shadows of those speckles looked like thousands of ants on ceiling and they were spinning around in uniform circles, looking at my walls patterns would appear across the walls also spinning around. In my kitchen we had one of those red lights you would use for a reptiile habitat, it was on and the red light from it started spreading and soon engulfed my entire kitchen and dining room. I was spun lol. But I've found that cubes dont have aas many patterns and colors as pans. Pans are almost like acid in terms of amount of visuals, but the visuals are very organic. This is in my experiences at least.

Cambo's are more potent than the cyans tho,
If I'm not mistaken cambodginiensis is the most potent psychoactive mushroom.

Last night was amazingggg!
Still trying to come back fully, afterglowinv hard

I still cant believe how far 1G of these guys will take you!
I was full-blown tripping for 7hrs straight!!

The colors and patterns were so different than I am accustomed to!

At one point everything around me was like the ocean!
Waving up, and down, up and down..
I mean wayyy uppp!!!
So I laid and stared at the clouds..which has a mind of its own.LOL
The clouds were morphing into so many shapes and colors, && i swear I saw 2 fire breathing phoenix come towards me.
Then I was trapped in a cyclone. The clouds were spinning around me but I was in the peaceful center.

Remember when I spoke or moved I could see "waves" or "vibration" coming off my body!!

Lol once we got home I looked at myself in the mirror and it was game over,
My dreads turned into snakes and were slithering on my head. I almost had a heart attack/panic attack!!

The trip was far more visual than Cubensis, I dont think Ill ever eat cubensis again unless its of the PE variety.

& I agree the trip is extremely clean & organic.
The body load is like no other!! Almost MDMA likee..

SOunds like you had a great time man! Pans are definetly my favorite, they had me crying on my first trip in my life. the body high afterwards when I was coming down felt great. I felt like I had smoked the finest indica ever, it was a super body high. I definetly cant wait to try them again. Im gonna get a Pan Cyan print one of these days, til then Ill be watching this thread and checking out everyones grows. Safe travles yall

Well I made some agar dishes up yesterday and busted out that old Pan cambo syringe. I made a divot in the middle of two plates and dropped a drop of spore solution into each divot. Heres hoping everything works out

I use 10 grams of flakes, 10 grams of agar, 7 grams of dextrose and 500ml of water.  Dog food agar is another favorite of mine. 10 grams of ground dry dog food  and 10 grams of agar too 500ml of water.

How well does dog food agar work? I assume pretty well because if youve ever gotten dog food wet you know that it grows all sorts of mold and shit in no time. I bet mycelium loves it, Ive got some bags of organic dog food made from fish (I think herring) would that work or do you have a brand you like to use?

Hey guys so I made an lc from a wedge of agar from a clean plate. I worked in a sterile air box so I was pretty sure it was clean up until today. I havent seen this before in an lc, so if anyone has any experience let me know. It looks like pan cyan floating on top but just tryma be sure.

The lcs about 11 days old now, hasnt been shaken since night before last. I shook it after this picture, gonna make some test cakes tonight

Cambos from what Ive read in this thread. Cyans are pretty great too though

speaking of Pan Cyans, I had a bag go bad on me recently and I cant think of why. It was g2g from a clean qt jar, inoculated via agar wedge, to 3qts of rye/wbs. The bag took a while to colonize and condensation inside the bag stalled it out completely. I had also made 2 other bags from that same batch of grainspawn though and g2g them from qt jars of cube mycelium and theyve gone on to spawning already. What could have caused the condensation build up in that bag but not the cubes? my rooms pretty moderate on temps, a couple degrees warmer when Im home and have my computer and monitor on
