You see no benefits in swiping agar? Because it will make it so there's multiple places germinating. It makes it so you don't have everything germinating (contams included) in 1 spot. In fact don't just swipe. I zigzag

Fantastic Mr. Fox said: Meant no disrespect... Im not saying people shouldn't swipe or zig-zag.
Im just simply answering the question that was asked..
I dont swipe, and dont care to fix whats not broken OME
All good. It's just that I've worked with lots of dirty syringes and a few wild prints (how lucky am i ). Swiping is the best way to salvage a dirty print. And we really never know if the print is dirty or clean.
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21365919 here's a good link showing what's in a speck of spores. And most syringes have a bunch of tiny specks. 1 drop should contain a million spores, at least. You can zigzag the whole plate with that. There'll definitely be no problems for 2 spores to meet up. That's all I'm saying.

Haha I see the confusion.
Pan semiovatus var. phalaenarum has no remnants (which is what it most likely is)
Pan semiovatus var. semiovatus has the annuli

Pan cyan Jamaica spores > agar. A bit overgrown (I was away for awhile), but I took my first transfers today.
Here's pan cyan Hawaii on agar. Almost ready to get put into grains

Nope I did a typical zigzag style swipe of spores with a loop. I just was out of town for awhile, and it got overgrown a bit .
It germinated looking like fluffy white puff balls, it's almost as if the puff balls moved outwards leaving the cool kaleidoscope look

Even 10 minutes at 15 psi will sterilize agar enough. I do max 20 minutes these days. I don't like caramelizing the media

They're active and they don't form a lot from what I can tell. Not much information on them. No dosage info either lol. Go cincts

gt40 said: This spring was the time when I grow pan cyans for a first time. Keep in mind recomendations about 0.5g dry for middle effect and 1g for strong I and my friend get 0.5 per person. It was very cool and really comparable with 3g of cubes. After that I was sure that 1g will give me all I need. A few months later we ate 1g per person and suddenly get pretty week trip. Then repeat it a few times and get same results. I thought that somehow violated the rules of storage, storing them in a jar in the light and at room temperature. Few days ago we took 2g per person and trip was very cool and intense! although I had not expected from this harvest.
So, what should I think about this experience? I have dense experince with 0.5g then weired week results with 1g and finally cool with 2g. where is at least some correlation? I know that it depends on different things, but every time I was not alone, and all participants had similar experiences. Also want to know you dosage for strong pan cyan experience.
surely you know that potency is random when you grow with spores?
Pan cyan is much more potent fresh. How were they stored? Tbh 2g dry is weak sounding, but pretty normal with improper storage.

It helps clean cultures covered in bacteria, but itll never be a replacement to sterile techniques.

psylo-not said: I have Azurescens, Galindoi, Pan Cyan and Pan Cambo all on rye berries from spores at the same time. The Cyan and Cambo are the 2 slowest jars of the 4. First time with both Pans, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Other than speed they look great.
I've read a lot that they need higher temps but I've also read a lot that says room temp is ok as well. They're above the fridge @ 72 degrees currently. Sorry no pics yet.
Sounds normal to me. Galindoi is fast AF and I have no experience with Azures. I just know pans are slow AF on grains..

Weird. Yeah I know mine are healthy. They're slower than cubes on grain and then fuckin colonize my manure trays in less than 2 days.
All of these were dropped into jars 15 days ago:Quote:

I love growing different species and comparing them. I can't get over the aggressiveness of the edibles and mexicana.. Now I can see why people say we should be recommending mexicana to newbies lol

Don't you use rye? I use oats.. I've heard in multiple sources grass lovers like mexicana and edible wood lovers perform the best with oats. It could be that the pans having trouble going through the oat hulls.. But as you can see, the pans are about the same amount of colonisation as the cubes in those pics. Very interesting!

More like 1 or 2 jars per tray have yet to do 3. I might tho very soon I got some fully colonised jars I got lying around that need some spawning. Not enough time lol
As for your grains they looked very bacterial and wet (like you said). That's why it was slow lol.
