he is, or was.. it's on wikipedia as well
check out the video i posted, u skip to 5:45 you pretty much see him drumming while there is a huge pentagram behind him. it is well known that he is into the occult.
i personally have nothing against it, but the truth is the truth.
Fair enough. He just seems like such a chill dude, I cant picture him sacrificing chickens and shit.
Those Bio's are still bogus.

This.
Although the pentagram has a negative connotation to most people it doesnt always pertain to satanism.

The pentagram is a beautiful symbol
Nitwits are the only ones who thinks its true meaning is satanic
But I don't think the pentagram was his reason for his assumption

It was reading the Aenima insert 20 years ago that got me interested in occultism. Just because you summon Paimon, king of demons, into your music doesn't mean that you worship or even believe in Satan.

Tool have been a huge part of my life and spiritual development, deeply influenced and obsessed with Adam Jones unique guitar playing style and visual art being a guitarist myself. Also Danny Carey applying sacred geometry, occult knowledge and meta physics into his drumming is pure genius imo.

I bet most people here eat chickens though. I've sacrificed a chicken. I sacrificed it to be eaten by me and a bunch of other people. It tasted really good, much better than store bought.

Guys first off I want to say that you all are awesome, it's cool af that there are still so many people that like them.
I really hope they release their new album soon. Although to be completely honest I'm not expecting it to be better than 10,000 Days, let alone Lateralus. But hey who knows? (btw I'm not talking shit about 10,000 Days I just liked Lateralus much more.) I think I'm going to go against my instincts and get my hopes way up for it, hoping it's their best record yet, and it will make up for all the time we've waited. However, I am also prepared to be let down. No matter how good or bad it is I'll always keep listening to Lateralus.
Hey as for all this talk about them being into Satanic/Dark shit, I personally would listen to it regardless if it's true or not. I just love their music and it's the driving force of my life. So maybe I'm demon powered?
Lol seriously though I think it's possible they just have a thorough knowledge of techniques to make their music pleasurable to the altered mind. Like they probably use those crisscross patterns with each instrument, while also creating specific notes (which are made of specific vibrations, which probably somehow tie in to using the sacred geometry and numbers. Idk man..
Guys I wish I could chill with all you personally. But forums are cool. So I wanted to get a list started of songs that Tool should cover. What do you think of mine?

Close enough I suppose:
I used to love Tool.
The fact that their last album was over 9 years ago + Maynard has lost his voice... I just gave up.
Definitely one of my favorite bands and influenced my life more than any other.
Cheers.

How did Maynard lose his voice? I watched some recent live footage and it didn't seem horrible by any means.
Lol I'm not big into wine or really any alcohol for that matter. I hate the high from alcohol it's so lame compared to bud lol
But yeah I just hope I someday get to see them live. I mean I'm REALLLY tempted to fly down to Arizona to see them live but it would be quite expensive lol

would have been epic to have been at the show where it was recorded!
funnily enough i always used to skip the push it live version and most of the live/cover tracks from salival. didn't realise i was missing soo many gems! those are some of their best tunes!
Tool and APC was my go to music anytime i was tripping. i've got this weird obsession with their music.. it always seemed to have a strong resonance that no other music ever really has before. laying back watching CEVs, listening to tool/APC and just floating away into zenmode. wonderful experiences!
can't wait to hear the new album whenever its finally released.

I got that album as a gift in middleschool I think, but didn't fully appreciate it until my 20's. I feel your regret, ha.

I also love Puscifer and A Perfect Circle.
Maynard James Keenan is a GENIUS.

Maynard's voice:
I saw them at the beginning of the 06 tour and Maynard at least tried, though it was clear that his higher register that he had left in 2002/3 was long gone, let alone his consistent screaming in songs. This is totally understandable, as he is getting older and all vocalists who do this shit lose this register, however...
I saw them in 2009 and it was a joke. Danny, Justin, and Adam were all spot on; Maynard was mailing in a performance of croaking. He wasn't trying and it was painful to watch/hear.
Same in 2012.
That being said, I love their music; I just wish Maynard would take it as seriously as he once did. Just seems like a piggy bank for his new hobbies.
I'm obviously very critical, but compare this:
t=3m2s
That is pretty skin-crawling to me.
To each their own of course.
