Hey fellow Shro0mer3!! =)
Glad to be apart of the family.....
So, I have a few questions; hoping the intellectual/Experienced side of Shroomery will pop in for a chat...
So.... I have currently started my FIRST op.. Really needed it and I figured I'd go all in I i were to do it, so.... with that said
I currently have ~20-25 jars FULLY colonized (some even began to fruit inside the jars (which is a sure sign they've been consolidating for wayyy to long.. So, plans -
*I have 1x 50gal rubber-maids (All black [plan to saran wrap lid]) *I have 20-25 FULLY inculcated jars (WBS/GT) *I intended to follow a tek that involved wrapping the top/replacing the lid with saran wrap & then wiring a humidifier into each tub (Providing the ability to control PERFECT moisture/FAE levels) .. .. SAW some AWESOME result....
MY QUESTIONS:
What is the ideal ratio (SPAWN - SUBSTRATE) When inoculating 'Mono'-Tubs'??
I have read a 1qt (Spawn) - 3-4qt (Substrate) is the "IDEAL" rations...
I UNDERSTAND 'The more spawn you use, the faster the sub is colonized..
SOOO,I have been thinking that 17qts (Spawn) -to- 51qts - 78qt (OF SUBSTRATE), WHICH should bring the total volume to ~68qt (Spawn&Sub.) -to- 95qts (Spawn/Sub)
NOW, I've read that the ideal for the "depth" of a tub this size should be around 4"-6" (4-6 inches).... Is this true?.
Should I Eyeball the "depth" (Mix 1:3-4 spawn/sub until Ireach the 4-6 inches???
DON'T HOLD BACK . . . ! This is a science, I have not intentions on wasting time, I am HERE to LEARN. . . TEACH me

There are many spawn ratios that people use, but the most common are 1:4, 1:2, and 1:1. All will work, assuming your substrate is properly pasteurized, but the higher the ratio, the faster your colonization will be. I personally like a 1:2 ratio, and my 66qt tubs colonize fully in about 7-10 days. I just recently put a few 1:4 montoubs into fruiting, but those took about 14 days before they were fully colonized due to the lower ratio of spawn used.
Alright, you are planning on using too much spawn and substrate for you monotubs. You would be much better off splitting that volume up into 3-4 smaller mono's. A normal 66 qt monotub will contain 10-12 quarts of bulk substrate, and 4-6 quarts of spawn. You put yourself at serious risk for failure by trying to scale up to something that large. What if something went wrong? You would lose all 17 quarts of spawn that you worked so hard to make. Don't go over 4"in substrate depth. 6" is too deep. I highly recommend, since you are obviously quite new to this, to stick to Frank's Tek's. Don't try to experiment with things until you gain a bit of experience. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17897163

The tubs pictured above are both 66qt sterilite tubs that are carried at any local wal-mart. I used 6 quarts of spawn to roughly 12 quarts of hydrated, pasteurized bulk substrate (650 grams coir, 2 quarts of vermilited, and 1/2 quart gypsum. I highly discourage you from trying to make such a large monotub like you describe above. Stick to what is tried and true, and listen to the advice of any of the trusted cultivators on this site. They know their stuff.

Ditch the humidifier idea....it's amateurish at best......a monotub should have all the moisture needed to pump out a descent first, and possibly second flush on it's own.
Secondly, if they are fruiting in the jars, I am not sure how good of spawn they would make....U usually want to spawn young, vigorous mycellium, not old consolidated mycellium.

And the more nutrients are available.....that ratio is fine.....I sometimes do a 1-2 ratio of spawn to bulk.....

if u are doing this in the name of science, to see how big a tub u can do, ok cool.
if u are doing this because u think it will be better than spawning several, i would advise against that.
that is soooo much spawn dude. all in jars, all inoculated with….spores i would guess?
big projects are cool. but smaller modular systems (like 56-66qt tubs) are easier to handle.

If this is your first project id highly recommend doing 1qt spawn in a 6qt dub tub, i usually run that in my greenhouse nd it works great! It being so big if anything goes wrong all your spawn will be wasted. You can easily get 3-4oz of a 6qt tub so, its all up to you, good luck either way man ill be keeping up with this!

I totally agree with blindingleaf and pussyfart.
Also, consider that even if you are doing this for science 4-5 tubs instead of one megatub will give you more fruits and more importantly more experience and knowledge (because you'll have to deal with slightly different conditions, maybe a contamination, and you'll learn more for sure )
