Outdoor start growing?

I have thrown colonized rye berries jar contents into cow dung pot which I think is composted. After about a week I was surprised to see some growth. They go out of the rye berries mycelium. I wonder if this is the growth of rye berries mycelium, or the cow dung will also give fruits.

What species was the rye colonized with? Those look like random horse shit mushrooms.
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Colombian. I know, their color looks different then those I use to get when fruiting straight from rye berries.

I'd be careful and check the whole nine yards before you consume them. they look kinda like cubes, but cracked to hell.

They grew out of rye berry mycelium. I assume this means those are cubes.

Maybe it's not cubensis mycelium..
The mushrooms in the pic does not look like any cubes that I'm familiar with.

Sunlight exposure
-------------------- The mushroom speaks: '"I am old, older than thought in your species, which is itself fifty times older than your history. Though I have been on earth for ages I am from the stars. My home is no one planet, for many worlds scattered through the shining disc of the galaxy have conditions which allow my spores an opportunity for life... How the hypercommunication mode operates is a secret which will not be lightly given to man. But the means should be obvious: it is the occurrence of psilocybin and psilocin in the biosynthetic pathways of my living body that opens for me and my symbiots the vision screens to many worlds"

I've had a lot of success from throwing spent cakes/spawn out in a pile.
The fresh air and natural environment gives them a really good boost for some final flushes.
I've also had a lot of successes just putting cakes out / bulk spawn.
I do cover cakes with perlite, so that they dont dry out and so that rain doesnt wash the myc off.
Fresh and fully colonized substrates do not usually get contaminated at all.

I don't understand if the cow dung substrate also give fruits, or just the rye itself. I cannot see any signs of dung being colonized. and it seems mushrooms come out of rye myceluim. If so what is the point of growing in dung.
