And then there's the issue of quality. Weed isn't exactly legal here in Amsterdam. There's no Marlboro like company growing the stuff, and there are no government regulations on strength and quality. Weed-lords grow the stuff illegally and push up the strength to compete. You see, selling and consuming is legal, but transporting and growing are not. It's a strange situation.
There's talk every now and then of letting the state take over the growing, but then they'd want to curtail the strength of the weed, they say from a health perspective. I like the strong stuff, so I hope we keep it in the gray area here.
What's this like in the US? Who grows it, and are there legal limits on strength now, or in the foreseeable future?

It's grown by growers who get licences and permits by the state. It's all taxed aswell. The potency of actual bud is no problem. A lot of people like the really, really dank stuff so that's not going out of style. But a lot of states are restrcting the THC content of edibles because idiots eat too much and do stupid stuff.Quote:
Prisoner#1 said:why wouldnt the lumber companies just plant pot and make fucktons of cash?
Because lumber gives a larger profit because people payed more. Hemp was dirt cheap, and could make paper, clothes, rope, and whatnot. Also I forgot to mention that Alcohol companies also wanted to make marijuana illegal and funded the same propaganda.
It's because it was decently popular, and at the time a lot of women's rights groups pushed for more people using marijuana because alcohol is more likely to contribute to abuse towards wives.

They're making so much $ off it I don't see them giving that up anytime soon. What I would worry about is how much more weed costs when you buy it legally and have to tip out uncle sam, and for that reason I don't buy legal herb unless I'm in a real pinch. Anyhow, where I'm at legalization hasn't made much of an impact so its a bit of a moot point to me. Laws have never contributed to my decision making practice, I rely on my morality above all.

Isn't weed prices pretty damn low right now in Colorado? If I remember correctly, you can buy an eighth for 35 bucks.
Weed is only expensive for the first few months after legalization, and then it drops to reasonable prices.

An eighth for 35 is not low. It is high. 35 US is 45 CAD. I would never pay that for weed. Ever.

We gave some food and a couple bucks to a drifter hippie the other day (OR) and he threw us a bag of fire dank and some edibles. I can dig it.

An eighth where I'm at costs 45-55 dollars. 35$ sounds like a great deal to me

State by state they have differing legalization models. Colorado has the best in my opinion, Then Alaska, then Washington. I believe Oregon and Cali are working on theirs, I haven't been keeping track. Washington sold a limited number of licenses to perspective growers, requiring each to operate a warehouse producing 100,000 plants a month, which they can sell to marijuana stores. They're keeping the "little guy" out of the business, and growing at home is illegal. Alaska allows individuals to grow six plants at home, and has a similar model to WA in other aspects. Colorado has licensed large scale growers, as well as allowing store owners to have small grows at the locations they sell from, say, in a store basement or attic. There are no limits on potency as far as I'm aware, and here in WA you can get some good shit at the stores, which are like designer weed shops, as well as edibles, hash, hash oil, and other derivatives.

My last HP only cost 1200 dollars. I still think I overpaid a few hundred but it beat 850 a qp. It's pretty good for pain but when my pain is too much I'll smoke more and it gets too heady.

The states can legalize it all they want. The feds can still bust anybody if they want to.

It's an exponential thing. The more bulk you buy, the cheaper it gets. I can get an ounce of dank for 110 dollars, or 5 grams for 50. I can't remember the prices for ounces in legal states at the moment though.

The prohibition of alcohol only lasted ten years because... well, it was ineffective. The revenue generated from weed will only keep the government's interests vested.
This is the concern tho. Alcohol was very well rooted at that time. Family's growing up with it, being around it, then some how or another they made it illegal due to the opposing efforts.

The funny thing is, here in Colorado you can still buy weed from the black market tax free

Yeah but I could get better weed from my dealer for 35 and he weighs his 8ths to 4 grams. that's their bottom dollar junk I'd assume.

This
I remember reading that a lot of the money in CO from legalized cannabis was going to fund schools, why would they want to fuck that up.
Cannabis is such a wonderful cash crop, there's no way they will ever criminalize it again.
You can search this up on other sites also. http://www.hemp.com/2014/06/colorado-hemp-seeds-seized-by-feds/
“The shipment is currently undergoing scientific evaluation, as hemp seeds can look much like marijuana seeds,” Neudauer said in a statement.
MY big question is WHY is the DEA so concerned about the growing of hemp in Colorado?!
Apparently in this case its because the hemp seeds could be "marijuana seeds" why should that matter tho since marijuana is legal here in Colorado? They think we cant get our own pot seeds produced here/Production?
I'm thinking.. like this. Is it illegal to order something thats legal in your state, from another country but illegal ever where else?

They are collecting signatures right now for FL state (where I originally lived!), the one most people are talking about allows for any amount to be grown, any amount to be possessed. Pretty much unregulated.
If this gets enough signatures and voters pass it, I'm moving to the fucking beach!!
