Question re: sour mold/wet spot?

You can see how there is a spot just to the left of the light that looks more in focus and less pressed into the glass than the rest of the flour/verm mix around it. I can't tell whether this is mold or just a natural part of the growing process. Can anybody help me out?
Notes: this is day 12 of a grow, and we've had a heat wave with temps >80 for the past week and very high humidity. I'm hoping it's mycelium sweat. This is also almost directly below one of the inoculation holes where I would expect colonization to begin/occur.

Holy crap, no signs of anything after day 12? that seems unusually slow to not see a start of any growth... you might have contam or you might have a really slow culture. Only time will tell.
this was my jar after 6 days of inoculation:

How would he be able to smell it, he would have to open the jar and expose it to thousands of airborne con tams ?

You can. If there is bacteria you will definitely smell it through the holes.

I've heard it can take up to 2 weeks to see anything and who knows how old the spores I'm using are.
Smells a little sweet, possibly fruity. But not like burnt bacon or rotting apples yet. I noticed it about 3-4 days after inoculation, and as it's my first grow I figured it was normal. And if I'm seeing it in all 5 of my jars, and I sterilized the needle before inoculating each jar (with fire and alcohol) is it really possible all 5 got contaminated?
Idno, it was above 85 here last week. Goddamnit. If I gotta toss the load again, it'll be the second time in 3 weeks.

I don't see anything so I wouldn't freak out yet. And yeah it can take a while for spores to germinate, which is why agar is awesome cos once you get s clean plate you can make a liquid innoculant by sterilizing some water in a syringe, squirting it on the myc, then suck it back up. That way you already have living myc when you inoculate. Saves the time of germination
