I can definitely appreciate that people are more easy-going out west, but something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. Like back here I am usually the cool, calm, level-headed guy, but when I was visiting the west coast for a couple months I found myself wanting to use the power of positive thinking to punch some stupid hipsters in the face
I always think I want to move away, but then I also get homesick. I'm also not much of a city person, a couple months is no problem, a year, I can handle it, but after living in quiet places I find myself increasingly agitated if I can't unwind from the constant noise of people and all their machines. I will think I am having a nervous breakdown when really I just need some peace and quiet.
I can see why the sensory deprivation tanks would be popular now that I think of it.

Oh gosh, have you guys ever been to the southeast? Most of my dad's side of the family is in North Carolina, personally I could see myself spending a year or so in Asheville, but I get a little freaked out by how forward people can get in the deep south and Texas. The first time I in SC I lost my luggage and was at walmart shopping for clothes, and a lady walked up to my and felt my pant leg and gushed about how she loved the fabric of my pants - it was adorable and charming, but I couldn't deal with that 24/7 and it really shocked me at first.
I think people in the more rural areas of the northeast, or any cities outside of the major ones, slow down enough to be very nice while still being genuine and not in-your-face. Even in the big cities, I've met extremely nice people, I've gotten phone calls while eating out from people who found my wallet and looked up my number(at the time my address was still listed as my PARENTS house, so my parents called me and had to give me that person's number and then I met up with her and she didn't even want anything in return). There's a lot of people there, we have to learn to ignore most for our own sanity, and things move to fast for pleasantries, but if you sit down and have a drink with anyone or manage to engage them in conversation they're usually very genuine warm hearted people who harbor no ill will and have a great sense of humor, they're just fast-paced and a little bit less smilely and happy go lucky and they cut out unnecessary pleasantries and words in favor of efficiency.
If you stop and ask for directions in any big city people will happily make sure that you get where you're going, and warn you if you're nearing iffy areas. Like, fuck, have you ever seen a group of New Yorkers trying to give directions? A bunch of them crowd around the lost person and argue with each other about the best way for them to get to their destination, it's pretty funny and a contrast to what the stereotypes generally are.

Yeah I feel like people in the Northeast are terse but it feels genuine to me, where in places down south I will be kinda bewildered at how curious and outgoing people are. Takes a while before I am convinced that I'm not being taken in by an elaborate state-wide conspiracy to break down the barriers I have spent my whole life putting up It's also quite charming though.

not exactly a nice thing to say. Crystal's actually an intelligent individual, has been here way longer than you have and has contributed more, she doesn't deserve to get raped or killed or OD just because she makes risky decisions - that would be an incredible tragedy which is why so many people are expressing a lot of concern for her.

How could one ever open people up to psychedelics when they browse this site and see so many hard drug users who have ruined there life? Answer: you can't unless they see people who are not tainted calling them out as wrong! This place should emphasize healthy aware living and not escapism and recklessness!

Wherever there's drugs there's people who overdue it, where on this thread do you see people encouraging her behavior? Have you even read it, clearly not so chill the fuck out on saying you'll be happy about another persons death and overall nastiness and drop the holier than thou act because you sure as fuck are not worth that.
Also I'm not a hippie, guy. If anything I'm actually pretty cynical. This isn't the psychedelic experience this is the pub, we get all walks of lives here.

You types love assuming that people care about the opinion of some random POS who appears from nowhere and contributes nothing but oh-so-edgy opinions and a superior attitude with absolutely nothing of substance to back it up.
And learn to use a fucking semicolon!

you sir need to chill out.
i dont have any problem with people sharing their opinions, the way op is so open about this stuff she's bound for brutal criticism, but when u start attacking other members and calling them names u've crossed the line.

Sir I will have you know that there is a fedora on my head, and since I know you are new to the internet I will explain to you that is a very stylish classy hat! You young boys act like you have all the swag, but you don't know the first thing about class.

Hawaii is pretty expensive, but I would have an advantage finding a job since I am fluent in Japanese, and there are TONS of Japanese tourists in Hawaii. I could easily find work in a hotel or resort or something in Hawaii just based on knowing Japanese alone.
Florida's weather isn't near as sunny or as nice as people would have you believe. It's pretty much a cheaper version of Cali. There aren't even any mountains.

Florida for me seems like the exception of the south. I don't find people there to be particularly social or welcoming. Then again, they mostly all come from the northeast.
