Indirectly Canada played a huge roll
No one here knows who Jack Herrer is except for people smoking the strain named after him. He didn't invent how to use hemp. That was known for thousands of years. Ed Rosenthal, Dennis Peron, that Native guy with the long hair, those are our cannabis warriors.

Hopefully I will still be alive to see who wins at that claim.

quoted for truth.. Yet Canadiens are always talking about america and Americans. The only time I hear Canada mentioned is when someone can't use the Canadian quarter in a soda machine lol.

More like southeastern Ontario, it's nowhere near the northern part of the province at all.

I was totally thinking it was in a way different area.
This was almost a decade and a half ago. Though I guess when I look at a map like that even thunder bay and sudbury isn't very far up there. Seemed like it at the time though.

Yeah I had a feeling you were picturing it being just somewhere totally different.
It's crazy how much of Ontario is only really reachable by air, or maybe ice roads in the winter. A whole lot of the north part is just endless swamps.

would normally agree with you until I went to the Canadien part of the akwesasne reservation in winter. Some homes had no heat but I guess that doesn't matter because the Winter's so mild lol. They aren't treated as equals either.
If they have no heat they die. Akwesasne? It can get 20-30 below in winter there. 10 degrees is the norm.

I went early November a few years back on a class trip and that's what they said, I'm sure the Indians were lying to me for fun... Canada's abuses are well documented with their native population. This shouldn't be the first time you are hearing this. Like the guy from Canada said before it's not absurd for them not to have running water. People have frozen to death on the reservations too, don't fool yourself. It's kind of deflecting from my original point though, Canada sucks...

20-30 below really isn't even that cold if you're dressed right, its just a bitch trying to move while wearing those kinds of clothes.
the only reason people heat their homes is really for comfort and so pipes don't freeze. you can totally be perfectly warm with the right clothes

Hemp isn't legal in the USA except for in a few states, such as Kentucky. Jack Herrer again played no role in Kentucky's legislation, and we've been importing hemp products since well before the 1980s. We grew it prior to cannabis being banned too. Slaves used to pick cotton and hemp and ship it across the Mississippi and Ohio. Going back to their roots is actually what made Kentucky legalize hemp, not Jack Herrer.

That may be your point, but it isn't true. Just less than 50 years before Jack Herer wrote his book, hemp was one of the United States biggest cash crops and had thousands of purposes.

I get annoyed when foreigners or Canadians talk about Canada like it is Switzerland while at the same time they view the US like its Russia. When in reality Canada, The US, and to lesser extents England, Australia, and NZ all benefit greatly from the shady shit the US does. The US does the dirty work and Canada benefits from it. The spy shit was just 1 example. We got the backlash, but info obtained was shared between all 5 countries, as well as each countRy doing their own spying.
I used to be very critical of our foreign policies, but over time I've mellowed out on them a little after realizing that everything isn't so straight forward and black and white. I still don't agree with everything, but realize the world is a much better place with US and Western European influences than it is with Russian/Chinese/etc. And sadly and unfortunately that's pretty much what it comes down to today. Do countries sit idly and watch other powerful countries gobble up weaker ones?
But it irks me a little that we are vilified by a large % of the international community, while the others in that group, especially Canada gets treated like Ghandi.
