Golden Oyster Grow

This will be my first ever Golden Oyster grow. I thought I'd share this with you guys and am hoping you guys can guide me through the grow.
I already have 3 colonized wbs jars, two of them are quart jars and one is a half gallon jar.
I plan on using a turkey bag filled with a pasteurized straw to make a straw log type block. Then I will fruit it in a SGFC or outside, since its September and we're getting alot of rain in my area.
I bought this at Walmart because i cant find straw in my area... I am aware that it is overpriced lol.
I filled up a 5 gallon bucket with the straw straight out of the bag. No cutting, just pulled it out and stuffed it right in. I added about two squirts of dish soap in there and filled it up with water. Then I thoroughly mixed it.
I placed another bucket over the soapy water straw mix to completely submerge the straw. Then I let it soak for about 12 hours.
After soaking, I simply flipped the buckets to drain. The final drainage was done by putting my whole weight over the top bucket.

For pasteurization, I used a turkey bag in the oven. Im hoping this will work...
First I heated a pot of water over the stove to about 160 degrees. I also began preheating my oven to 170.

while that was heating, I lined one of the buckets with a turkey bag and began loading it.

Once loaded I added the hot water into the turkey bag. This was done to bring the temperature up to 160ish.

After about 5 mins, I just flipped the buckets to drain for only a minute.
Once drained, I put the loaded turkey bag into a tray and stuck it into my 170 degree oven. (this is the temperature before going into the oven)
The core temperature stayed at about 155 for the whole two hours. I turned off the oven and let it cool over night.
Today I will be spawning the WBS to the Straw log.
What do you guys think?
- Update -
After cooling the straw, I placed it back in the buckets and flipped it over to let it drain

While sitting on the flipped over bucket, I broke up my Mycelium by hitting the jars against a tire.
I found that my half gallon jar was not fully colonized, so i omitted it.
Here's a picture of the Golden Oyster Mycellium.

I decided to spawn right there in my back yard. I just loaded up the turkey bag, kinda layering it, but at the same time shaking it a bit to mix in the mycellium.

Here is my finished straw bag

Should Poke the holes on it now? or should I wait for it to colonize?

I don't have a whole lot of experience, but you may have made the pasteurization process more complicated than it needs to be. I'm thinking if you took 180° water, pour it over your straw in the bucket, put something on top of the straw to hold it down, wrap it all in a blanket, and let it sit for about four hours or even 12 hours if you have time, that would be more than sufficient. Drain well, then just add spawn.

I'm also thinking that if you only let the straw drain for a minute before loading it in the bag, it may be too wet.

I know it's too wet, I'll drain it one more time before spawning. And I didn't want to trust the bucket tek on this one because I've had straw contaminate on me in the past. Thanks for the input though.

No. Just break it up, and either layer it into the straw when you bag it, or mix the spawn into the straw, and then put it into the bag. Don't forget to make holes in the bag for gas exchange.

Poke some holes and compress the life out of it. You want it way tight, especially as you have not chopped the straw.

today I dumped the bag. There was no sign of growth, and it smelled sweet. I figured it was bacteria. Oh well, good thing I still have a colonized quart jar! Once I get some grain going, I'll make some more spawn and try it again! Any future advice would be much appreciated.

Yellow has a very distinctive smell. The mycelium smell can closest be described as "fresh"
