Help needed with identifying NZ species
    #22211114 - 09/09/15 08:09 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Location: South Island, NZ.

Habitat: This was growing from a fallen decayed beech tree in native forest. It was growing out from the underside of the tree.

Gills: A light grey/brown colour. The camera flash has washed out the colour.

Stem: 3 cm in length, 2 - 3mm in diameter. Cream and red/brown. Smooth (I took off most of the powder with handling) Hollow and thin and able to be bent.

Cap: 1 - 1.5 cm in diameter. Slightly raised at the top. Then light brown to a darker brown towards the edge of the cap. Dry texture.

Spore print: underway.

Bruising: The stem bruised blue/black when cut.

Other information: In the habitat photo is the fallen beech tree. To the right of the green plant is possibly another one of the same species. Missed that one
