that always seems to happen to me....the mushies, they lie to me in the end, they make you think that it was all worth it, and that you should always do it again...but in the beginning sometimes it's just horrid.

Don't fool yourself. Psilocybin doesn't lie, it is brutally honest. If you are having problems you should examine your dose, the setting in which you choose to have your experience, and the state of mind with which you enter into it.

Most, if not all of the issue people have with psychedelics can be corrected by the reintegration of experience into a ritualistic context. You can consume psilocybin on a recreational basis for quite some time, but eventually the molecule will demand to be heard.

your right that the chemical is not to blame. but its certainly easier to get carried away with emotions and thought while tripping, IMO

--------------------
"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

But getting "carried away" with emotions and thought is not, in and of itself, a bad thing. Also, the use of any form of psychological "anchor", which can be as simple as drumming or singing, can allow for a much more directed psychedelic experience. Again, I feel that the notion of psilocybin causing your thought or emotion to "get away form you" is a result of an overly-emphasized recreational aspect of use.

i completely agree psychadelics dont CAUSE emotion/thought to be uncontrollable. but i do find that the use of psychadelics result in people reacting to what they are thinking, and many swear they have no control. i have never experienced such a situation, and i suspect the pharmacology of the psychadelics has little to do with the problem. but thats not to say it doesnt happen to people.

Man made that connection centuries ago.

The phenomen can be characterized as the "Singing, Speaking, Praying" methodology (plotkin? I'll check and correct if necessary)

Correction:

"Singing, Speaking, Praying" is from Blosser, not Plotkin. I knew something didn't sound right about it the first time.
