ID and advice

I found a cluster of what I think is Coprinellus micaceus at the base of a dying maple tree in North East Wisconsin
images attached- caps about a cm or less across

I have read that these are edible if they really are Mica caps- are they any good to eat-and by good I don't mean I'll live through the experience- but rather- are they tasty?

Those are the Coprinellus micaceus group.  Most people think they are yucky, but most people have never tried them.  Those who have tried them say they are really good.

It is important to pick them carefully so they aren't super dirty.  This typically involves a knife or scissors.

When I am ready to cook them, I put them into a colander and spray them with the sink sprayer to remove excess ink from the gills.  Then toss them into a bowl of flour, perhaps with a little salt mixed in to the flour.  From there, toss them into a hot frying pan which has a decent amount of butter in it, taking care not to crowd the pan.

They are super good!
