Why didn't he comply with basic police orders? Why didn't he put his hands behind his back?
How would you detain a person who doesn't comply?
Wow, I don't know, by tackling him and following the proper procedure after it?
You do realize tackling and wrestling with a drug out person who might have a knife is a very dangerous approach for a cop? What do you care, you just place judgment on someone who potentially risks their life everyday.
Did you see how slow the guys reactions were. I bet the cop could have walked up to him and cuffed him without any trouble. He definitely could have tackled him. You think a guy in that state could pull a knife out fast enough to slice a cop before he tackles him from about 5' away. The cop chose a dangerous job, he wasn't forced into it, and if he gets hurt doing it that is just part of the job. You would rather him follow the guy around a fast food joint where people are eating. What if it was you and your kid in there and the nutty guy started attacking your kid? At least the cop didn't get bruised right, that was definitely worth putting civilians in danger and attacking defenseless people.
"if he gets hurt doing it that is just part of the job"
This is where you are wrong, cops aren't obligated to injure themselves to keep dangerous suspects safe, it doesn't work that way.
You have unrealistic expectations of what a cop will do not to injure a uncooperative suspect, their own safely is a very high priority, what made you think otherwise?

He already tackled him, the cop made the dumb decision of backing off after he tackled him. The cop put himself at risk for giving the guy time to react(which he didn't). Your argument is invalid.
The tackle was unsuccessful, that doesn't mean doing the same action is risk free.
Again, all you're doing is being a Monday morning quarterback, there wasn't a whole lot of options in this case.

The one time I started shit with them and they kicked my ass I didn't file any complaints. I woke up the next day thinking wow I was drunken idiot last night and I totally deserved it. People should just comply and if they disagree fight it in court later. The guy in this video has no shirt meaning he is not allowed in this dining establishment. He put the cops and the patrons of this place including children in danger. I hate when fucked up people won't leave the restaurant or bar, I cheer when the cops remove them. Notice all the people in the place were not shouting any anti police slogans? They want that piece of shit gone so they can enjoy their meals. At 1:52 "he got everything he deserved" and "That guy is out of control" and "it's not the police's fault" All he had to do was surrender and he would not have gotten tazed and maced and clubbed and he could easily have gotten shot. One moment where they can't see your hands is all it takes and there were several of those moments. He could have just left when asked and nothing would have happened, he could have left peacefully with the police and got a small fine and be out in a few hours, instead he escalated it to insane degree. I wouldn't have patience like those cops and probably would have just shot the idiot.

I wouldn't defend anyone dining in McDonalds, or the others. Wjay, yoi want me to take the gun out of your mouth too? Just eat your food like products. I hope the out of his mind man rubs his cock on you for poisoning your kids because you think anything sold is nitricious, when most food isn't even that. If terrorists flew plaims into the twin McDonalds and twenty thousand regular patrons died, it still wouldnt be as sad as that one time when that cute kid scraped their knee. Oh did they cry, and there were no bandaids or adults, and she became a double amputee diabetic
From eating at McDonalds. You know, to soak up the alcohol she drank because her parents died on the way to comfort her knee injury

cops arent mental health professionals, maybe you should beg obama to put more money into mental institutions to keep these folks locked away so they arent a danger to themselves or others
no, if cops are trained for dealing with mental health issues then who's going to be the police, should we use the national guard in that role, maybe use the marines, I'm sure they'd make excellent police

God forbid they go through additional training right? The poor police officers right? What a fucking joke. How dare anyone assume that the people entrusted to protect the people from danger, whether it be themselves or someone else, actually recieve proper, rounded training aside from loosely learning laws and how beat passive assailants. You've got this shit ass backwards and you always have.

ok, so let's say you work as a burger flipper at McDonalds, should you have to learn to lay bricks or do plumbing for your job? I mean what happens when the shitter is clogged, I think you should be the one to go back there and fish out the turds for minimum wage before returning to your regular duties
why should the cops be required to protect the violent thugs, why should the be required to protect those that opt to take an illicit substance and then wander around in public posing a problem for the people that chose not to break the laws, who exactly would the police be protecting them from? would it be protecting them from themselves? well shit, that sounds like the very reason drugs are illegal in the first place. I have an idea, let's stiffen the penalties for drug use so everyone caught with a joint serves a life sentence that way they're protected from the evil drugs and the decent god fearing people are protected from them

well first off, it shouldn't be illegal to use drugs in the first place. second, i can use drugs in public and not cause a problem. shit happens though, obviously, and some people get way too far out there... like running naked in the street on acid and third... obviously it's the job of the police to be able to handle situations like this so they don't hurt themselves or others... what the police did in this instance was hurt someone high as a kite because he was non cooperative. it's like when they tazed that black guy having a stroke in his car.
fishing for turds as a burger flipper =/= dealing with drug users as a police officer.

what should and shouldnt be play no part in what actually is, the fact of the matter is, drugs are in fact illegal and until that changes that's simply the way it is, if you dont want drugs to be illegal, stop "well they shouldnt be" and start doing something to change that
Quote:

clearly if you're out using drugs and posing a problem then you're a problem for the public and as those folks in the video kept saying, "he got what he had coming to him". just because you can keep your shit together doesnt mean everyone can and because those others decide to be dumbasses, someone needs to be there to protect the innocents from people like them
Quote:

and what happens when those people hurt others? how long do the police have to should orders at people to cooperate?, how long should they put up with someone's shit, 10 minutes? 10 hours? 10 days? they tased the guy repeatedly and he still wouldnt comply and there's obviously a lot we didnt see because the video started with him being tased and that didnt seem to affect the guy in the slightest
everyone seems to believe they know how the cops should handle these situations and my suggestion is to get out there and show the cops how it should be handled, dont sit here on a message board and tell us how it should be done, get out there and do the job for the cops, set the example, like Gandhi said, "be the change you want to see in the world"
Quote:

isnt that what being a cop is, we can all tell a burger flipper how to do his job just as everyone seems to know how a cop should do his job but in reality, the cop is just fishing for turds
