Hi,
As advised, a new fruiting chamber has been created. Will this salvage the mycelium?
1. Larger fruiting chamber used 2. More perlite added 3. Holes at the top and bottom of the chamber as well 4. Kept with some gap between bottom and the surface it's placed on
Please say it will be all right :S

If you build a proper fruiting chamber.
What you have is not a fruiting chamber.

Do you mean I should have holes on the lid and at the bottom as well? Or what else?
And if I build a better one now, can these 3 cakes still be saved?

In a first grow attempt that looks like the images attached, all the pinheads now seem to be dying. They've stopped growing and are crumpling up, and no new pinheads have formed. This is before even a single flush.
What is being done wrong? Is there any hope of salvaging this batch? It was going well initially, and one whole mushroom was successfully plucked before this started happening.
The perlite was well washed before laying it in the terrarium. Misting and light airing is done twice a day. And in past few days, few glasses of fresh water have been poured into the chamber. The cakes have also been misted directly in desperation. There was initially foil below the cakes but that has now been removed, again in desperation.
Any help is highly appreciated.

There needs to be holes drilled in the lid and the bottom of the tub, the tub needs to be raised off the surface it's sitting on by placing it on some 1/2 pint jars or something. You shouldn't really have it on the floor either. A majority of contams linger low and you risk I higher chance of catching a contam that way. Looks like you could use some more perlite also, you want at least 4-5" of it. Your lacking propper humidity and fresh air exchange,

Yes, you need to put holes in the top and bottom. Also, elevate the box off of the ground.
The idea is that you want to circulate humid air as it evaporates off of the perlite. Therefore, you need the air to flow. Humid air rises, so you want air currents underneath the FC to form - I guess it would be convection - so that they pass underneath the container and rise through the top.
Additionally, replace the tin foil or your cakes will begin to grab a hold of the perlite.

I'd raise it higher off the table. I like old beer cans time to get drinking!
