Is there a free undelete tool for winXP?

Every trial I've downloaded either has a ridiculous file size limit or tells me to buy the software if I want to recover the files.
I remember back in the old DOS days there was a simple "undelete" command. Nothing like that in XP, I guess?

Good ol' XP, the least user friendly er user friendly operating system. All of the "idiot tools" spread throughout XP just make doing things difficult, it also seems to like changing your settings just to ensure that you cant do what you are trying to do.
Sorry but XP really pisses me off, its bloody badly made and damn I swear microsoft must have some of the best programmers in the world, so how do they make such appalling software?

eh, no need to bash microsoft for this, let alone XP. Undelete has been "missing" since windows 95, and i quoted missing because its just been renamed.

windex, i dont need any justification to bash microsoft. Not only do they make weak software they use dirty tricks to beat the competion eg. coding windows to not run Netscape(shortly before they got found out pre release)

Yeah, its called the recycling bin; if you used the tools microsoft intended on you useing to delete files (explorer) and leave some specific settings at default it will work EVERY time and better then undelete.
Added: - Easy to use
- prevents over writing of files unlike undelete; A file could be over written if something wrote of that section, in the undelete days disks were small enough to allow this to happen quite a bit.
Removed: - Non-Universal; you have to use the system the microsoft wants, this means using the tools they want you to to performs specific tasks in a guarenteed manor (read: wont support third party if you have a support plan) and you have to leave some settings at default.
I guess I should have also added, no need to bash if your not going to provide any relivent information.

recycle bin=!delete
The recycle bin simply moves the "recycled" files into a different folder. No hard disk space freed, the file can still be accessed, totally insecure. Once the recycle bin is emptied, the files insode are deleted, and can no longer be recovered without a third party undelete tool.

If you read my post you would understand, the recycling bin is the newer version of Microsofts undelete.
They've just added some features, removed some features, and adjusted the way it must be used.
I know the difference, I spelled it out completely. Re-read the post in its entirety.

You could try reverse-engineering it. Find yourself SoftICE or similar program and use a HexEditor/Decompiler.
Used to do it back in the day when there weren't any cracks released for certain programs. And for cracking passwords on password-protect full versions of software downloadable from the internet.
