Corncob Mycelium Slurry

Im interested in giving the Corncob Mycelium Slurry a try, but am worried about how reliable this method is. If anyone has anything good or bad to say about this method, please do so. And also, if anyone has tips for better approaching this method, I would sure like to know.

My hippie friend has done this tek many times, you need to use the corn cobb for spawing! If you try to fruit just the corn cobb you will have very little to no fruits. here's a few pics

is corncob easy to get innoc? at the local hardware stores - bags of it are given away free as material to soak up left over paint in used cans..
