What films do you guys suggest

Hey guys
Well I'm planning another session for Wednesday evening now that my shrooms are all dried and ready to be consumed.
I got my music playlist all set for the session but wanted to hear suggestions of films to watch while in a trip. In case I get enough of the music and want a change.
I'm thinking nothing dark and evil cause that could cause a bad trip, so do I stick to the more kids animated films?

Fear and loathing in las vegas... Best tripping movie ever. Its great. I used to watch it everytime I used to trip dxm. Its very intense with that haha Ive never really watched movies on shrooms though. Always went for walks, music, meditation whatever. Usually tripping too high to enjoy.

For me there is 3 kinds of movie for 3 different kind of experience with shrooms.
if youre going for a Solo heavy dose and you want a mind blowing experience, Samsara is just so epic. cant get more spiritual and mind blowing then that, Baraka is good too
if youre with friends and just wanna be trippy and laugh till you cry, Stoner movies and Comedie . stupid jokes everyline gets me everytime i can laugh histericly for like 10 mins sometime . i probably watched Anchorman 2 like 10 times on shrooms.
and then there is the inbetween, the psychological/psychedelics concepts stoner cartoon/movie . Adventure time the last season is epic shit and really funny perfect inbetween really funny and keeps the good vibes but also disturbing in a psychedelic way
rest of movies i ussualy dont understand shit in a trip ,actor plays always seems weird , cant understand sense in the movie

Fear and loathing would be in my inbetween category ,really awesome movie

We were tripping last night and just watched boxtrolls, an animated movie and it was awesome. Then we watched the new season of trailer park boys which was great. Dr. Strangelove is one of my favorites to watch tripping though....

Cheers for the replies guys. I'm planning on having a solo high level trip so I might give that Samsara a go.
I'll download all of the suggested films and try to watch bits of them before Wednesday evening to see which I think will best suit me.
Cheers guys.

"A Pitch Black Room" provides some great cinema whist tripping
Watching something like the "Planet Earth" series with the volume on the TV all the way down and some music of my choice playing in the background during the comedown is something I dig, but through the thick of the trip the TV is just a big mindfucking distraction to what else is going on during the trip.
Really though, the last thing I want to do on mushrooms is have a TV on, it's a HUGE distraction and sitting and watching a TV while tripping face is a big annoyance for me. The stories that form and what unfolds in my mind and behind my eyelids from music alone is sufficient.
But I understand different strokes for different folks....So here's a couple cliche' suggestions, cliche' for a reason I suppose, lush eye candy and thought provoking stuff .
"Waking Life"
"Samsara"

Futarama is a good call. I can see why too. Like the Simpson's but the simpsons don't have the effects futarama has

I totally understand what your saying mate. When I have tripped with others before, the first time we watched Avatar and to be honest, all I wanted to do was close my eyes and enjoy the visuals. But I felt I had to watch the film with the others. Another time I went up in my room and closed my eyes and listened to music, while my mates watched a film, and it was amazing.
Just wanna get a couple of films lined up ready for after I have enjoyed the visuals and am ready to start coming back down to earth.

To the planet earth suggestion. Absolutely mindblowing doc series. I own it on dvd becouse it is just so great
Fear and Loathing is a heavy movie for tripping IMO, I would much rather watch Where The Wild Buffalo Roam. Its like the same movie anyways
If you want some random trippy stuff to watch I would recommend some anime. Space Dandy is a great one.
Mushishi is another very visual anime with a great mystical feel to it, Kino's Journey is another artistic and very philosophical anime. Though it can get a bit dark.

I love watching movies whilst tripping. Cant really say there is one that stands out because I have never wanted to re-watch a movie again I have seen before whilst tripping I rather chose a new movie I haven't seen whilst tripping to watch. To name a few random ones I watched was the last two Harry Potter movies that had some grim vibes but was cool enough it felt right with the setting.
Another movie I saw whilst tripping was Kung Fu Hustle, pure gold to watch stoned or tripping. Just an English badly dubbed "ninja movie" comedy. I've watched it with subtitles once but the English stupid dub fits well with the movie so its fine to watch it with it on plus whilst tripping you don't really want to be reading words after words.
& lastly a really odd movie I chose to watch once on shrooms browsing Netflixs was "The Arrival" purely picked it because it had Charlie Sheen's mug all over it & I thought "I bet he was keen as to play a role like this that cracked out rag". In the end it wasn't that bad of a watch for its thriller/sci-fi value which fitted well with the out of the box thinking that comes with shrooms.
Fear & Loathing always works a treat though.

Koyaanisqatsi: No storyline, no characters, no nothing. Just beautiful images with music by Philip Glass. Fantastic Planet: An old, animated movie about big blue aliens keeping primitive humans as slaves. Very, very, VERY trippy. Though maybe a bit frightening. Animals are beautiful people: A wildlife documentary with a storyline and funny voice over. Good stuff. Lastly: Rick and Morty: A cartoon aimed at adults with lots of psychedelic stuff like shifting dimensions, intricate storylines and great humor.
-------------------- To do: sclerotia, DMT, mushrooms, LSA, mescaline.

It was on netflix recently if you have that.
Jungles, Caves, Mountains, Freshwater, Deep Sea, Seasonal Forests. Those are some of my favorites, they are all awesome though. Shallow sea is great too.
AS Voodoo said Heavy Metal is also a great one if you don't mind it being a bit intense. It has a great good vs evil theme with some awesome trippyness.
I highly recommend a live concert too, Pink Floyd's Pulse is my favorite but their are tons of great ones. The Grateful Dead Movie is pretty trippy if u dig em.

But watch the second one, the first is pretty dark. The second gets a bit dark but is way more trippy, and has a great soundtrack.
He smokes so much weed in the second movie, the whole movie is like him getting super stoned tripping out while his wife bitches him out

Fear and Loathing is great if people have tripped before and you make it past the reptile orgy section. That's where I've turned it off the most from new trippers flipping out lol. I think my favorite tripping movie so far has been Monty Python's the Meaning of Life. I laughed my guts out to that, even through the puke and surgery scenes.
Planet Earth is great. I've watched Futurama and Archer, both good. Gladiator was great, but I was so spun it didn't play out like Gladiator to me, even though I'd seen it a lot prior to the trip. Good times!

Haha that's funny reading that, I started to watch Fear & Loathing with my girlfriend while we were both tripping once & it was at that scene she said to me "Ummm can we change this I'm not liking it at all" I pretty much laughed & changed the movie.
Always wondered if others stopped at that same point & now I know.

This. Boxtrolls tripping is phenomenal. Thing is though, it's meant to be seen in 3D, so OP would have to have access to a 3D television and a 3D blu-ray of Boxtrolls. I guess he/they could always just watch the regular non-3D blu-ray, though.
Coraline is also one of my all-time favorite trip films.

I probably mention this literally every time this topic gets brought up. Seeing Coraline tripping is profound and will blow the roof off your mind.
But yeah, Planet Earth & Samsara are both amazing choices as well. The jungle & cave episodes were probably my favorite Planet Earth episodes.

Out of all of the great, epic trip films that I've seen, Fear & Loathing is still king for me. But yes, for inexperienced trippers, some of the scenes can definitely be too much for them to handle.

That movie is just dark, experienced or not I wouldn't watch it on any real strong trip.
Where The Wild Buffalo Roam however... That movie is like the same movie but less intense and dramatic.

It is dark in spots, but it's a comedy at its core. A really dark comedy, but a comedy nonetheless. I find it hilariously entertaining. I swear I've seen it literally over a hundred times and it still doesn't get old.

Have you seen Where The Wild Buffalo Roam?
I love Fear And Loathing but it is an pretty intense movie, I would only watch it if I was tripping mildly or in a certain mood.
Definitely a great movie though, I prefer Wild Buffalo though as it just has a nicer oldschool vibe to it. Much funnier IMO.
I haven't seen either in awhile though

Dark to me is Enter the Void. That film is fucking disturbing as fucking shit. I've seen it tripping face before and it felt more like a horror movie (even though it's not) than anything else.
That said, it was really mesmerizing at times and visually mind blowing.

Enter the void is very dark, I couldn't make it very far. I have read a lot of bad stuff about it too.
Some of the scenes in Fear And Loathing where they are freaking out and fucking with each other just bother me, some bad vibes n stuff.
Watch that movie, it is great. I may have to watch it myself at least sometime soon as it has been quite awhile.

Oh Enter the Void is a trip killer IMO. If a person can somehow make it through the entire thing, his or her trip is almost guaranteed to be a bad one from there on out.
And no doubt -- I'll be catching Where the Buffalo Roam for sure. And soon.

The "Human Planet". It really brings you closer to your natural human nature and also your fellow man. It is a real roller coaster. One minute you fucking hate yourself and the next you will have forgiven yourself. Also, "MicroCosmos" is fantastic. It's like you become Alice in Wonderland. No words; just tiny life narrated by music.

I need to toss on Baraka on one of my upcoming trips. I was kind of doubting it because it was made over 30 years ago, but everybody still seems to love it. I thought it had the potential to be outdated.

I have been meaning to re watch Wizards, it has been awhile.
1408 is a intense movie, I remember watching it as a kid and it really scared me, especially the part with the creepy guy int he vents
I re watched it recently though since it was on tv and thought it was a pretty funny movie. Would definitely not watch it tripping though

One time I was on acid with some people at a house and somebody turned on the TV and American Psycho had just started on HBO or something. I said "leave it!!", nobody else had seen it but me. I didn't really think at the time that it might be a bad idea to watch it while tripping, I just thought, awesome movie, there isn't going to be anything on TV better than this, let's watch it. It really freaked a few of those poor people out I enjoyed watching it, it was hilarious. It was a low dose. But a couple people were mad at me for 'making' them watch American Psycho for the first time on acid. It did get intense even for me, having seen it before, when he starts hacking the guy up with an axe while blasting huey lewis and the news. We all stepped outside to take a break from it at one point for sure, but I remember one of the guys was super into it, laughing hysterically, it was his new favorite movie Definitely have to have a dark sense of humor to laugh at that one
tl;dr American Psycho is not recommended as a tripping movie

A little less known, but "I'm a cyborg and that's OK" is a good trip-movie as well. It's a Korean movie about two people in a psyche ward falling in love. The cinematography is really good and the soundtrack is amazing (as is usually the case with Park Chan Wook's movies). I think it's the only romantic comedy I ever enjoyed watching.
And then there's Stalker, a 1979 Russian movie by Tarkovsky. Lots of philosophy, deep conversations and beautiful images. It is a tad dark though, especially if you know that some of the actors died of cancer years later, presumably because of toxins in the environment where they made the movie. It is still beautiful, no matter what.
Also, not sure if they really count as movie, but if you're into heavy metal, check out videoclips by the Italian band Ufomammut. They're about 40-50 minutes, the music is really psychedelic and the clips are as well.

I'm on a roll, it seems.
I also recommend anything by Sylvain Chomet. Animated movies in French, but some of the best you will ever see. They are all superbly, and I mean SUPERBLY animated. None of them have any real dialogue. All of them are beautiful.
Triplets of Belleville/Les Triplettes de Belleville:
A man living with his grandmother, mémé, wants to become a cyclist. At one point, he participates in the Tour de France, but gets kidnapped by the cyclist maffia. Mémé and her dog Bruno have to go get him back. As I said, the animation is simply stunning.
To get a sense of the overall feel:
L'illusioniste:
An old magicianmeets up with a young girl. The girl thinks the man can actually do magic and he doesn't want to break that illusion. To keep up the facade, he has to go further and further. Sad, but beautiful.
La vieille dame et les pigeons:
Well, it's a short movie, only twenty minutes. If you want to know what it's about, watch it.
He also did a music video for Stromae, but I can't fucking stand Stromae.

I have to recommend Avatar 3D: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21516519#21516519
I felt a profound connection to the movie and story while on shrooms. The whole story felt so perfect for shrooms, i realized shrooms IS Avatar and that they are One. All the teachings and experiences of the characters were immersed into my trip, i became "one" with it.
If you want a spiritually-significant adventure to an alien world, watch Avatar 3D. One of the best movies ever made.
