Buying an Edible in CO and Driving Across State Lines 1

I'm moving cross country and will be driving through CO on I-70 W and of course I'd love to get a little souvenir. I won't have anything else illegal on me and I just want one little something to try once I'm safe in my new home. Is this too risky to try to bring over state lines even if I repackage to look more innocent?

No its not risky. Don't consent to a search
And even if you did a repackaged edible isn't suspect at all.

well the answer to that is if it's a felony... yeah. it's too risky. but if you put it in lunch box with a sandwhich and a banana at least you can tell the officer hey i was in for a long drive, and i wanted to be healthy so i packed a banana... at which point the prehistoric part of his or her brain will recognize banana as a good thing and let you off with a warning... that is, if you get pulled over

Well I am moving to CA and plan on getting a card so obtaining legal weed won't be a problem but it will take some time for me to get round to changing license to CA to be able to get a script and I just want to experience to novelty of buying from a store in CO.

Buy hard candy edibles and repackage them from something legit from the store
Easy. I took 150 hard candy edibles on the plane with me from CO to NY and nobody said a word.

When my roommate drove back from visiting family in Colorado, obviously she picked up some souvenirs along the way. Now, she's the most vanilla girl I know, so if she were stopped alone, I don't think there would have been a problem. However, her brother and dad were there and they both look sketchy as fuck. They're awesome guys, but holy shit is it obvious they do drugs. Anyway, I can't actually remember if they stopped her for anything in particular, but she said that the officer made her step out of the vehicle and come sit in his car, and then he grilled her about what they had been in Colorado for. They had a rock solid alibi, given that they legitimately were there to visit family (a pastor's family, no less), but I guess they crossexamined her and her brother before finally letting them go.
To be fair, this was coming out of Colorado on the Kansas side. My guess would be that you'd receive less scrutiny going out the other direction. Especially if you don't have that scraggly, dirty shirt look to you.

Don't do it man, not worth it
Utah is a scary place to drive with drugs in your car, or so I've heard
It's very easy to get a MMJ recommendation in CA (but you will need a CA driver's license and address I believe)
There are dispensaries everywhere
Eat your edible in CO. I would not recommend driving across state lines out of CO with anything in your car.

you are fine, most are tiny so just eat it if you see the red and blues.
i recently drove through denver and back to CA and i picked up my 7gram limit from one store and had it in the car. it was in the bottom of a bag of clothes... drive intelligently and you will be fine. it isn't like you are going to have ounces or pounds.
