There should be no standing water, just moist perlite....the water would drain out the holes u drilled in the bottom of the SGFC anyways.

If the perlite is dry I would rehydrate it. You should have rinsed the perlite really well and then tilted the SGFC to drain. I would try to move the SGFC as little as possible. :thumbup:

So, uh, yeah, apparently that was a very good idea.  I got about 2 ounces dried from my first flush, which is definitely on the low side for 16 cakes from what I've read.  After dunking half the cakes for a second flush, I've been misting when I fan (which is still never more than twice a day, when I leave in the morning and when I get home) and this happened:



I got a few good sized ones first flush, but none of the cakes exploded quite like that. oO

Still leery about making a full-on SGFC out of it because I'm worried about humidity staying up given that I can't always give it all the attention it wants, but that's a pretty significant difference.
