Habitat:
Woods on hard wood stump
Gills:
White,De current,with some brown bruising

Stem:


Cap:
2 inch in dia. brown to tan flat to funnel
Spore print color:in progress will update
When cut in half the meat is white


Bruising:
Some brown color when young older one was tan to whit

Bizarrely, in the GA piedmont they would often come in the spring. In fact, many of the mushrooms that fruit in cold weather in the mid-atlantic (Hypholoma, Grifola) came earlier in the year (late summer/early fall).

That's the way it was in Maryland, too. Just for fun, here are some MD Omphalotus I found a few weeks ago.




My camera's too shitty to do them justice. In the sunlight you could see clouds of spores drifting off. I tried to clone one from a stem butt. Failed miserably.
