You seem to forget that I have repeatedly said I'm a supporter of Trump's two main ideas- 1. immigration. 2. trade agreements.

I'm NOT a supporter of Trump the man, but that doesn't invalidate his two key campaign policies.
Do I wish someone else promoted his ideas without the Trump baggage? YES.

There's some things that Trump has said and done that aren't really defensible, does that make his ideas invalid? No.

Look, Bernie has the same stance on trade agreements, and is a better human being all around. He has been fighting trade agreements for years, and will stand by his word. Trump has been benefiting from trade agreements for years, and is a proven con-man! Bernie is not pro-unfettered immigration. Is immigration really your top issue?

Trade is the key issue, immigration both legal (H1-B H2-B visas) and illegal come in second place. Both are very important to the US labor markets.

Those are both big issues for me too. I agree with you on them. I just could never turn my back on a person with such integrity as Bernie, because he's not quite up to par on one issue.

I have already said Bernie gets my vote if Trump isn't around.

I'm curious, if Trump shot someone in time square for no good reason, would you be one of those that still supported him?

I think the GOP isn't going to let Trump be the nominee. It's starting to look like they're going to sabotage him somehow.

Trump is truly more bark than bite.

The GOP and the whole establishment has been trying to sabotage him for months, it's too late, it's a train that can't stop at this stage.

I went to a small social gathering this weekend, I was surprised to hear so many people saying they are voting for Trump, and before you say they must be a bunch of racist rednecks, I will tell you they were highly accomplished educated professionals telling me this, in fact many were women.

What state do you live in?

Both Trump and Hillary do terribly well with uneducated voters. That's probably why Trump said 'I love the uneducated'. I do know some educated people that support him too, of course.

PS: in case anyone is wondering: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bernie-sanders-ghetto_us_56dce712e4b03a405679062b

Bernie said "white people don't know what it's like to live in the US ghettos." -- yes a generalized statement, but when you are asked a DIRECT question about the exact subject of ghettos, then it's kinda hard to not parse the data and see that white people do not exorbitantly reside in US ghettos...it's more black and latino and other minorities, actually (more than whites, more) -- very specific quotes taken and spun and then this guy believes it.

PS: i like how the old guy reacts with violence at the "old" comment,...sorta a visceral reaction, no? sorta like...being called a n*****?

What Bernie said about whites and poverty wasn't defensible, this is what happens during political campaigns.

a non-statement^ wow. impressive.
he was talking about Americans living in ACTUAL GHETTOS. ignoring words does not bode well for your stance on the subject.

LOL yeah you don't know the context. he's talking about ACTUAL ghettos. not simply poor areas.

Ghetto: an area of a city, especially a very poor area, where people of a particular race or religion live closely together and apart from other people.

so you wanna go into the Poles and Jews, sure...but that ain't America.

After a great deal of research I have come to the conclusion that nothing Trump is doing is random.  I think he knows exactly what he is doing.  He is playing a psychological game against the press and both establishment parties.

Every action, photos and people doing things that make you think 'what the fuck' the settings, the lighting, --everything--he is doing is calculated to do one thing--keep the media and the establishment wondering what he is going to do next.

He is being completely unpredictable in what he is going to do next and it is driving the media and both establishment bat-shit crazy.  They are use to playing against scripted, predictable politicians.  One example is a little operation he set up where he had some people raise there arms up in a nazi type salute.

He knew exactly what would happen--the media would say 'see?  He is a nazi'  Things like this are, in effect, dog whistles for dogs that have been pre-conditioned to respond in a certain way to certain things, words, and events.

And when he blows one of these dog whistles, the dogs of the media and establishment come slobbering thinking they have fresh meat, and by the time they are ready to eat he has moved on to something else.

He is playing the establishment and media like a master plays a fine violin! :highfive: :lolsy:

You don't to like him, but you have to love the way he is absolutely taking the establishment apart.  I would like to know what is the motive?  I think it is to win so he can????

I heard an analogy about him that brought me to this conclusion.  I play chess, or use to a lot, and in `1972, Bobby Fischer and Boris Spasky faced off in Iceland for one of the most amazing contests in history.

Spasky was heavily favored to win.  And Fischer he complained about everything--the room the location, the lights, the time of day, the people around, and on and on.  Then for the first game, he kept spasky waiting and showed up exactly one minute before gametime.  Spasky was furious.

Then, Fischer blew the first game with a completely stupid move.  Then he conceded when spasky made the right move.  This was completely unpredicable.  He NEVER conced games, he always fought to the end. The second game, Fischer failed to show up so the game was forfeited to Spasky.

Now, NO ONE had ever been down by two games at the start of international chess and won the world championship.

The third game, he looked like a mad man.  He appeared to make a stupid move again. Spasky thought for a long time, why?  He new it was a bad move.  He ended up getting mated.

Fishcer kept bitching, and makeing outrageouos statements, and acting like, basically Donald Trump at Chess.  And he kept making strange moves and beating spasky.

Spasky began to come unglued, and made stupid moves, and began to complain.  He thought Fischer wsa drugging him or hypnotizing him.  They even took the chairs apart to examine them.

Still fischer stuck to this scheme.  Spasky even complained of hallucinations.

After Fischer won the world championship, Spasky never played major competition again.

Now i DON'T know REALLY what he is doing, but one has to admit he is taking the establishment apart.  And this post should have us arguing for a several pages..... :ranchydance:

dude, i just read that 1st line: i'm going off that but....

dude it's plain to see he knows...i'd bet any money...if he loses...he has carte blanche (and i think he might...) to just go "oh i was just exposing how the media exploits things"

or maybe "oh i just wanted to see if i could win."

ha, see, ya, we're on the same page i think, Starfire.

Interesting story, but I think you're giving the man too much credit. I think he's just going up there, being loud and aggressive, and that's what conservatives like. They like tough talk. Any other election, Trump wouldn't be doing well at all, but right wing America has become totally fringe, and they don't want anyone who's been in politics before.

oh he wants payback alright. his image is going to be real bright and new and shiny to a great many people.

another reason why it seems he's purposefully doing something. sometimes i honestly think he's baiting the conservatives to make a mockery of them.

the republican elite HATE him. they even, i think, may have MAY have proposed to kill him. who knows. Alex Jones seems to think so, and that'd be up his alley, no? LOL

but either way...Trump is loony tunes...just not totally dumb. he's got "street smarts". :lolsy:

The real fun begins at the convention.  Remember state parties aka the establishment, pick the delegates.  Trump does not.  If the elites do not want him they can change the rules and steal the nomination from him.

Exactly. They can sacrifice the general, in order to prevent a Trump presidency. It's been done before. He could run third party, but unless Bernie runs 3rd party, he's SOL.
