Can this be believed? Donald Trump for president of the United States? The man is an idiot! And a slimebag weasel of a businessman, too.
I don't think anyone need look any further for concrete evidence of America's downward trend -- our decadence and decline. Our civilization has grown ripe, and is now starting to rot.
This nonsense with Trump surging in the polls just shows the total lack of political savvy among a public that is too stupid to know the difference. How fucking irresponsible this is on the part of the American people.
George Will, some time back, called Trump a "bloviating ignoramus." I don't think one can get closer to the mark than that.

"Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarassed millionaires."
- Steinbeck
Thats what qman, peyote, starfire, and HU are: temporarily embarassed millionaires. They know the system is rigged for the rich, but they dont want to change it because they themselves will be rich soon.
Based on the arguments I've seen (including that one), I wouldnt count on it. I mean, shit, Peyote even admitted he'd rather live in the poor house than entertain socioeconomic arguments with even a hint of communism.
Its like some lethal disorder, half Dunning-Kruger Effect, half Stockholm Syndrome.

They have a stranglehold on the perception of alternatives in the states. Socialisms the big bad wolf thats gonna take all the money they already dont have and deny them the future that died 30 years ago. Trumps gonna build a wall and money will materialize out of thin air.

Honestly thats where things get convoluted. There are so many labels, most of which people have no idea what they mean.
Go ask a self proclaimed libertarian where they stand on trade and marvel in the contradiction.
The fact of the matter is labels are rarely accurate, that includes those on the right like the "alt right," what a stupid invention made to pidgeon hole every conservative dissatisfied with the establishment. Then again, those on the left dissatisfied simply get labelled socialists (or worse).
Makes me just want to create a thread with a list of commonly held political positions, and have everyone quote it into a checklist. And then have everyone hotlink their response into their sig. Otherwise, we're just going to continue having people making assumptions about others' positions based on the labels we dole out.

But even you can't possibly believe that the "American way of life" is ONLY good. You have to admit that there are many things about our way of life that does incredible damage to other nations and to subcultures within this nation.
I don't agree with those who would eliminate American exceptionalism, but I also don't agree with those who believe that exceptionalism should have no limits.

I have always advocated for the enforcement of immigration laws, that's not a fear.
I care about the ten's of millions of blacks and Hispanics that don't have any employment because of illegals taking their jobs, why don't you care about America's poor and disadvantaged?
Terrorism is a real problem, too. That doesn't mean I'm voting for Trump because he says he'll stop it.
Anecdote isn't going to influence my vote, nor is policy plans that seem to be written by a high school student on the bus on his way to class.
Trump has correctly identified two problems. Actually, one isn't even a problem, its a symptom of a problem. But that doesn't mean he has a solution...
The fact that he has addressed two key issues that the R's and D's have ignored for decades is very important.
"But that doesn't mean he has a solution"
Maybe it does, the fact that the subject matter if finally being addressed is the most important aspect. Obama has not only admitted that globalization is a fact of life, he's a supporter of it (TPP).
But....Bernie has addressed those issues as well, and actually has a plan to solve them. Actually, not maybe.
I get the feeling you're against Bernie because you don't want to bubble in a name with a D next to it.

Bernie wants a path to citizenship for illegals already here, and comprehensive reform overall. Besides, fixing the trade deals would alleviate some of the immigration problem.
So basically the only thing keeping you from voting for Sanders is amnesty? Is that really a good tradeoff for all of Trump's baggage?
Edit: And like wolf said, Bernie has been consistently fighting poor trade deals for decades, whilst Trump has been profiting off of them. So....

Other countries suffered because they didn't sell nearly as much to the US, and eventually "retaliatory" tariffs reduced US exports as well.
Today, even if international trade went to zero due to tariffs, the increase in our domestic production from what we used to import would be a lot more than the decrease from what we used to export, because we import a hell of a lot more than we export.
Hence, tariffs would result in a net gain in domestic production.
And prices through the roof. Guess why the phony has his clothing line manufactured in China and Mexico.
I think the US could live with higher prices if we get higher employment and wages, that's a no brainer.
Nope. Benefit to the very few will not overcome the detriments to the many. Cronyism.
Creating polices with more Americans working will benefit everyone in the US, that's not cronyism.

Weird. I'm about as left as it gets and I never see anyone talk about banning guns. I dont see leftist politicians proposing it, leftist voters, leftist media, leftist forums...

If a person has to fake it to get elected, we're not electing who we think we are. It's no different than dating a hot chick only to find out she was actually a dude.
I can admire the skills of a great con man, but that doesn't mean I want to be his mark.

Also, if you think Obama (the guy who bailed out the rich and presided over one of the largest wealth transfers to the rich in our nation's history) is a communist, you're an ignorant moron.

That's the key difference. There's a wide ideological gap separating the two. If you want specifics, Trump's site explains it in concise language, all you have to do is commit some of your time towards actually reading it. https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/economy/ https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/regulations/ https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/tax-plan/ https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/trade/
But of course, these policy proposals are seldom sufficient for someone with an ideological handicap that prevents them from grasping the fundamentals of his economic vision, let alone the specific details provided to explain how it will be executed.
Are you kidding me?
There is absolutely nothing specific about his proposals.
"We're gonna create jobs!"
Yeah? How?
Honestly, what about this is specific:
Quote:
[Create a dynamic booming economy that will create 25 million new jobs over the next decade. For each 1 percent in added GDP growth, the economy adds 1.2 million jobs. Increasing growth by 1.5 percent would result in 18 million jobs (1.5 million times 1.2 million, multiplied by 10 years) above the projected current law job figures of 7 million, producing a total of 25 million new jobs for the American economy. Reform policies with a pro-growth tax plan, a new modern regulatory framework, an America-First trade policy, an unleashed American energy plan, and the “penny plan.” Boost growth to 3.5 percent per year on average, with the potential to reach a 4 percent growth rate.
Do you people really buy this horseshit? He parrots the same trickle down bullshit that every Republican has since the 70s.
"We're gonna cut taxes and regulations and the jobs WILL roll in. Trust me!'
Yeah fucking right.

I think this may really fuck trump over at least with women anyway . He actually said he could just go around grabbing women by their pussies because he's famous .
Donald Trump IS Hillary's huge campaign gift. Do you consider this clown to be a viable opponent? As balls has demonstrated, Clinton will be defying many historical markers of impending failure this election, because her opponent is so incredibly inept.
