Is this the right move?
    #22193899 - 09/05/15 06:18 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Okay, so before reading further I should note that this might be a bit depressing, but I seriously need some help.

So, the past year and a half has been beyond hell for me. I've had the most endgame depressing shit happen repeatedly (lost my business, best friends gone or betrayed me, etc the list goes on and on and on and on and on. The list is literally longer than Santa's toy list).  I'm extremely depressed all the time, have a halfway opiate addiction, blah blah blah. Really bad existential despair. I don't eat, don't sleep, sometimes going days without showering, don't want to look for a job, I just pace my house all day every day.

I say this to place emphasis on where exactly I am, not to sob.

Anyway, lately I've been trying to get some shrooms to help me with this. I've never tripped on them before, but I've tripped on DXM, and I remember how my depression vanished like a light switch and felt basically born again.  I am desperately seeking this "mind reset", but will I find it in shrooms? Apparently yes, according to various articles/trip reports etc, but I am mainly looking for an opinion from someone who is or was in the same shoes as me. I feel like this will basically cure me of this extreme depression so I can at least function again. Not even looking to be happy, just functional.

Will shrooms provide me the relief I need? This really is my only option and I NEED to be fixed.

Thanks for any responses.

Wish you the best of luck with figuring out what needs to happen to reset, friend. In my experience mushrooms definitely hit a reset button for my perspective on life, but not everyone has the same experience and i don't feel that one can go into any experience expecting it to fix an issue they have. We have to realize things for ourselves and make our own changes, and while psychedelics can aid in this process it isn't a guaranteed cure for anything. My suggestion is to look at your depression and see if you can figure out the major cause(s), if you don't know them already, and see what can be realized about those causes. There are plenty of things in life that a lot of humans will get down about, but it's all part of the ride we are here to experience. Ultimately mushrooms can be a catalyst for you to help yourself, but it isn't a guarantee and people can have the same revelations that psychedelics bring without them. People will stab you in the back, projects will collapse, and at the end of the day a healthy human should be able to experience all this is as natural and we can be happy with this gift of existence, with all the punches it throws at us. This is all in my personal experience and opinion so please take it as that and remember you are on your own journey. Life is ebb and flow, understand you will be alright and you'll relieve yourself from this, friend.

You can't go into taking shrooms expecting them to help you with yout depression brah. I tried that and it took a few trips to figure it out. Take

the shrooms in hope of having some insight or a spiritual experience. The worst thing you can do is put any expectations on your trip, it makes the trip too

stressful IMO. For me getting going was the key. Getting off my ass and working again. I f'n hated it, hated the interview, hated the fact that they gave me the

money I asked for, most of all hated that I got the job. It took me a few weeks before feeling normal again. I wouldn't say I am not depressed any more, but I

feel better. Another thing I realized when I was trying to help my depression with shrooms was that the whole thing felt unnatural to me. The anx I went

through to get the damn shrooms and then the pressures I put on myself to have some sort of enlightening trip just made the whole thing blow.

Actually today I finally rounded up the rest of my supplies and started my first grow of shrooms. I realized last time I tripped that when I do them

again it will be from shit I have grown or something that has come my way, I will not put any bad vibes on a trip before it happens again. Also in the

past few months I have started a little garden, simple shit. Corn, beans, tomatoes, blah blah. But goddamn if this garden is not the best free therapy

I have ever had. It is amazing watching some stuff grow that you have helped create. Hobbies bro, don't just get fucked up around the house. I did the opiate

thing for almost seven years. It sucks, I wasn't semi addicted either. I was blowing my entire check and some on pills addicted.  You'll hopefully get

through what you're going through my friend, just hang in there. And I suggest taking some shrooms, but don't expect anything. Just take them to

take them, have fun. Best of luck with shit!

Thanks for the responses. Yeah it seems like the best thing to do, I just need something to get me going. Sure, I could do without it, but SUPER fuck that. I need some of this weight taken off, plain and simple.

Is it possible to simply grow them in the backyard lol? It'd take me too long to get a PC and such (no income). Surely they can simply grow out of the ground as they have long before humans came along?

Thanks!

I just got my first grow going being on a budget like you. It has taken me some time to acquire all the needed supplies, but I have done it for probably around

$50. And that includes 2 different spore types. Do some research and you'll figure out if you want to go that route. For me it has been a royal pain to try

and find some shrooms, it was actually easier to get the build up a rep and get a couple of spores from some good peeps around the web. I picked up a used PC

from Goodwill for $10 and the rest of the stuff is nickle and dime items that can be bought just about anywhere. To be honest if I had a reliable source I

probably wouldn't go through all this. Though like I said before I think that growing them myself or even going out and hunting for them would be better

than buying from someone. Thats your other option, if your in the US the season is here for most to start hunting. Look at all the different forums

here and do some research bro. Good luck.

Growing them outdoors is definitely an option, there are a lot of good grow logs on the forums that go into detail on their techniques.

If you have a shaded area and you live somewhere hospitable for mushrooms you can order spores on here, inoculate grain or flour, make some beds with local horse poo or straw, and throw the grains into the beds. Water daily or if you live somewhere with frequent rains hope for nice weather conditions. You can also just bury the spawn(grain/flour) in soil, a casing layer of vermiculite+peat moss/coir/leaves may be helpful to keep the area moist if you live in a dry area.

In anywhere from 1-6 or 7 weeks you can expect to have some coming up, depending on the ratio of your grain or flour to substrate(poo, straw, soil).

Or read up on identifying local ones if you live somewhere where they are fairly common and want to learn about the varied characteristics the mushrooms have to help us identify them.

And as trippiehunter mentioned local thrift stores, garage sales, and craigslist are a good spot to snag a cheap pressure cooker. You don't have to be sterile outside but you're gonna need one to sterilize the jars you knock up with spores or you can try boiling the jars if you can't get a pressure cooker but i've never tried it so not sure how reliable it is.

DMT DMT DMT DMT DMT
A gram can be bought for around 80 bucks and the dose is 60-100mg(100mg is very high)

Cured my life long depression the first breakthrough I had. I was glowing for at least a week after.

The experience of coming back into your body and mind after smoking DMT is profoundly life changing. It's like being born for the first time with all the negative programming disappearing giving you some time to work on your condition.

I would recommend mushrooms and longer lasting trips after you've done a couple smoked DMT breakthrough trips to pull you out of the negative funk first.  It only takes about 15mins to have a smoked DMT trip, feels like infinity.

The reset is a powerful experience but you can't know going in how you're going to come out.  Which is why I usually suggest people expect to spend some serious time and repeated tripping with these substances.  You gotta get a feeling for the terrain before going all out.

That's where growing your own can help, because unless you're insanely lucky (or detail oriented) it'll take you a while to do it reliably.  OTOH you won't need all that much, but the experience of cultivating will put you in the best possible place for getting the most out of it.

Getting annoyed trying to get a PC with no money.

Can I just honestly put some vermiculite in my backyard and grow it that way? I'm gonna do it anyway, just wondering the chances of failure, and if I can do it with just verm alone.

Thanks
