Who wants to know a shortcut to extracting cacti? 3

Freeze the cacti whole for 24 hours when it thaws your cacti will literally be dripping with juice. you could prolly wring out 50 percent of the juice just by softly squeezing it.
The water is so prevalent in cacti that when it freezes pretty much all of the insides, even the core "pops" but the wax stays intact and you can pretty much wring it out, its wierd.
Once it's wrung out (save the water from the wringing obviously) blend up the, now very softened, cacti with a blender and do two to three vinager water pulls in a large pot.
Filter all of the liquids(the pulls and the wrung out juice) well and dry them out reducing heat as it dries so it doesn't burn. (If extracting using acid base extraction you don't need to dry it you can just basify the liquid and continue with the acid base extraction)
The crude product can be eaten directly or it can be used VERY effectively for an AB extraction and you will get crystals everytime.
The way I process the cacti you don't get any wax in the crude extract so the AB extraction goes very smoothly.

This is an acetate which is what you get when you use vinager,or acetic acid for the acid in your AB extraction.
Also should I be posting this in a different place?

That's pretty much exactly what I do these days. The straight meltwater by itself without reducing can be surprisingly strong and not nearly as bad tasting as a cooked and reduced tea. Meltwater has come to be my preferred cactus product.

No I rarely do anymore, but when I first started drinking it, I sometimes would have a hard time holding it down for even long enough for it to take effect. I like to think that my relationship with it has deepened.

I only eat crystals and for me it's about 60/40 not throwing up to throwing up ratio lol
I tend to get less nausea while eating my first pull of crystals vs the latter pulls.

Only time I ever dosed, I did the boil down method and fucked it all to hell. I was supposed to be left with like 8-ish ounces of sludge, but instead I found myself left with 20 ounces.
I managed to get down 15 ounces of it. One more slurp and I would've hurled.
I tripped pretty hard, but surprisingly, I never really had an overwhelming urge to puke during the actual trip. That said, I had a pretty terrible body load and was uncomfortable to the point that I just ended up laying down for the majority of the trip.
I probably should've tried to purge. Would've felt better. But I'm not really the type to puke unless my body is absolutely forcing me to.

Yup the tea is just to bad for me to drink. Maybe an enema?
Edit:I'm OK with making myself purge if I know it will help my gut
I've actually tried that(mescaline enema) with some mescaline crystal. I threw up and suffered from nausea before tripping. But it was a third pull and therfore the most likely to produce nausea anyways.

One thing that helps a LOT with the nausea is if you take lemon essential oil before consuming the cactus. Also cannabis either smoked or a tiny bit of edible.

Question: If you were to freeze thaw your cati several times and wring the fucker out and only collect the rusting juice what percentage (estimate) of the good stuff would you leave behind with the solid waste? Is it much, or do you pretty much get most of it out in the squeezed out juice?

Prolly around 50 percent on the first wring and then I just boil. What I do specifically is I wring them out and them chop em up boil it(with a splash of vinager) for like an hour on a very hot setting (keeping it watery all the way by adding more water) and then I'll freeze the whole pot with the cacti and water for another 24 hours then thaw it and wring it in a t shirt again
This is what I do I imagine that second boil freeze and wring gets like 90 percent of it all.

Is extracting it basically the same process? Like you put the cactus flesh in an acidic solution then basify it and extract off the top with naphtha, freeze and precipitate?

You use xylene Instead of naptha but yeah that's basically it
I only acidify the water first when I'm extracting to help pull alkaloids no need to do it for you A/B extract.
If you do it with the raw cactus you won't get clean crystals It will be oily.
It will still work but you won't be able to get a proper dose wieghed out because it's adulterated with wax n stuff.

"but the wax stays intact and you can pretty much wring it out, its wierd"
I'm confused. Once you have wrung out the juice, you say you go ahead and process the tissue. Doesn't that include the wax? How do you de-wax the tissue once it is blended up? Sorry if I am misunderstanding your process.

Hi Impatientguy
I really appreciate this thread and all the advice.
I'm currently removing the spines from about 12-13 feet of san pedro cuttings that are about 3-4 inches thick each. I'm pretty excited. The cactus comes from two different sources. One (about 1/3) I have consumed cuttings from before and know is pretty potent, it has longer spines. The other (about 2/3) is a little bit fatter, darker green, has smaller spines, and seems to grow faster. I have not consumed it yet but I'm kind of expecting it to be less potent than the first one. Anyway I think I'm going to use your freezer method on all of it and then use the juice to do an extraction. While I'd like to only work with the cactus that I know is potent, I feel if I'm going to go through with the process, I might as well make as much as I can, because it's still not going to be much. Would you recommend extracting it all as one big batch or doing them separately? And also, would you recommend using the whole cactus, removing the core, just using the skins? I've always used whole cactus and want to make sure I don't waste anything, but does this mean more wax and impurities?
I'm wondering if you or anyone can point me in the direction of a simple step-by-step tek for extracting mescaline crystals from the frozen cactus juice. I know there are a lot out there, and I have researched this (not in depth obviously) for a long time, but I just want to know what the current tried-and-true tek is that you would recommend, if there is one. Most of the extraction teks I've read are for dealing with dry cactus. I just want to make sure I don't screw this up. While I've been wanting to do this for a long time, I am really not chemistry-savvy and this will be my first A/B extraction.
Just curious also if you have any kind of rough guestimate, a range, of how much mescaline one could extract from 12" of san pedro that is about 3.5" thick and of decent potency? I know that's an impossible question to answer but I'm just interested to hear others' opinions.
Thanks!

3 step easy citrate is the tek you want. I use vinegar for the acid.
Use the whole cacti just filter well.
Make ABSOLUTELY SURE that no lye water gets into the naptha while sucking the naptha off the top of the cactus lye soup. Better you leave some naptha in the jar for the next pull than get some lye in you end product.
Also don't do this if you only have a single 12 inch cutting you need like 10 pounds wet at least IMO to make this worth your time.

This is just what I was looking for! I've got a cutting I've been planning on consuming, but was intimidated by the tea!

What kind of blender are you guys using? I'm going to buy a vitamix soon. It supposedly breaks everything down to the cellular level so should be perfect. When I get it I'm gonna try about 4-5" of bridgesii mixed with some OJ, blend, and drink. Let me stomach do the extracting. I watched this video on youtube where they were blending pineapple core which is about the same consistency as cactus. So, I'm pretty excited about this. Just curious what you guys think since a large part of this technique is blending, using a high quality blender = high quality results, right?

Do you use the acetone to clean it your shard or do you use it in place of your exylene?
