Washing Hands After Handling A Contaminated Jar - Overkill Or Nah?
    #22189817 - 09/04/15 07:39 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

I found a contaminated jar tonight.  I removed it immediately, then looked at another jar.  Then I realized I had previously handled a bad jar and ran to wash my hands.

Overkill or nah?

I'm a germaphobe.  The term used by the director of infection control at the hospital was "fanatic".  So if it's overkill, its okay.  The germaphobia needs to be checked every now and then.

Well we would be considered "bacteriosapiens" if it wasn't so off putting

We need germs to live, but i wouldn't say it necessarily overkill, just a good precaution!

May not matter, but then we are creatures of habit, and it's a good habit to get into!
Germs live in soap and disinfectant also!
99.99% allows that 00.001% to flourish and multiply... They just aren't harmful to us much as others may be..

Good jars won't allow much to get in there outside of inoculation.
So should be ok either way unless u touch the contaminant itself...

:2cents:

Assuming you introduced the contaminant during inoculation, and the jar has correct GE filtration, I see no what it'd get out in any noticeable amount.

Verdict? Overkill.
