Disaster... Assistance Required
    #2218917 - 01/04/04 07:48 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

One of my friends had 12 jars that were about 60% colonized... My friends brother came home drunk and tore them out of his closet, leaving them on top of the heater all night.... Mycelium growth has reportedly stopped for the past week, is there any way i can revive / induce pinning on whats left of the mycelium if its not already dead?

Hmmm... Sounds grim to me. I bet if you open one of those jars it'll smell like hot, rotten yogurt. If not then you still have a chance, but most likely the mycellium has started to look funky. They might be gone.

heres a jar that suffered partial thermal death from a heater pad.

the myc eventualy grew over the dead portion and the cake fruited,so it depends on wether there is any living mycelium left.
after spending all night on top of a heater i'd doubt there would be.

next time you see your friends brother.....punch him.
