I wrap my Pasty plates if I'm taking them somewhere, or if I'm storing them. There's no need to otherwise.
I use the same 1"roll of glad cling wrap, cut from a larger roll, that I wrap pour plates with.

We both can sympathize, Pasty. T had a daughter who died, and while not the proximate cause, it certainly was the hard part of a short, hard life. My ex was bipolar, and it was the roller coaster ride through HELL. Anything which helps is worth pursuing with dedication. Best wishes, from both of us.
We have found this has been good for us, too, and the whole cave in the desert smells like mushrooms and being in the woods.
Scrambling back on topic before the ban stick comes down, my problem isn't containers so much as recipe. Haven't been able to find the recipe that crushes it, consistently. Grain water sounds great, but what do I do with a sack of MEA, a bag of potato flakes, and seven kinds of honey and Karo syrup?

Just mix it up. Try different combos. I find malt to perform poorly to average for most but I have a few clones that really like it. Sometimes just switching from one to the other can get more vigor going. None of its waste but rotation will be needed. This is the best place for people to mad scientist it up. So go nutz. Manure and straw water tea agar is my next one

I wish someone had warned us about the smell. Ok, warned me. The missus-after-seven-o'clock tonight is not happy about it. Oat water agar is not on the list of options anymore.
Still a hundred degrees. Not opening the windows.

I suck at judging mycelium from pictures but there is at least some clean cube myc on those plates.
Thanks, Muda. I didn't dilute the grain water so I hope it's not too nutritious or whatever. Next time I'll match tap with grain water.
Going to make LI's with these bad boys today and transfer the other iffy ones again.

Lol forget about doing the bottle tek with dog food then. Worst smell in this hobby.

Wait, what smell? Grain water agar should make less smell than PCing the grains

I think I'm using those same baby food jars. Do you have any issues cutting out the myc with how tall they are? My agar is a bit thinner than yours so I'm anticipating a tough time.

I will just wait for a clone Is that why the mycelium is running and ropy? b/c I dont give them there added sugar?
This jars still look good after 2 months. How long would you say the jars are good for after PC for the 45 min. I normally PC at 17 PSI

--- Cutting them out is fairly easy with practice. I like starting spores in the larger jars though then move them onto the baby food jars. I only bought the babyfood jars because I wanted a 100 agar jars on hand and could not afford the 1/4 oz ball jars.
babyfood jar: 50 cents for 1 1/4 ounce ball jar with plastic lid: about 1.25 for 1

I got about 50 of them, with lids, for free. I figured they'd work well enough for agar. I'll be cutting some out later today.

Uninoculated they can stay good until they dry out. Colonized plates with a thicker agar puddle will stay good in ziplocs in the.fridge for a long time.

QFT. I once PCed dog food while I had cubes and reishi drying in my dehydrator at the same time. The combined smell was so bad. I considered burning my house down.

Sounds like your dehydrator is about to handle that for you.
