I've been trying to find some!
Even if I'm "wasting" half my time out there observing, I get to say I've been to another ocean, another coast, got to see coast guard rescue maneuvers, a slug about 16 inches long, two Robins egg blue slugs making the sexy dance, an elk bigger than my car, waves splashing over [redacted], etc.
I love it out here, and I love all you guys'n'gals celebrating the season. This is the most fun I've had on the boards in god maybe ten years, and the most fun I've had exploring since my last eagle scout outing. That sea air... my god I could smell it before I even got in the car haha. When you grow up on the coast and move to the Midwest you realize how much you miss it...

Found some very different azurescen phenotypes today. Some I think are cyan....
Azures

Posible cyan or azure??
I found 2 patches pretty close to each other that looks like cyans but have different phenotype maybe. These are on the edge of the dunes. In a new area for me and untouched so maybe look other spots if you find yourself going back to the same area every time.

Here is a comparison of all three from the dunes.

And my total haul for the day

I think I just came a little.
That's a nice haul for sure. I love the way mushrooms look when they grow like this. To me it feels like they are just coming out to say hello. Thank you for the photo, it made me smile.

Portland is pinning everywhere with the weather shift, everything was just waiting. Hunting partner and I found thousands of cyan pins around town. We also found huge fairy rings of Cincts.

We also took the time to spore any habitat where we didn't find any. Spread some myc around as well. I make what I call spore cards after spore printing on folded out brown shopping bags. I just cut the printed bag into 2" squares and bury those in chips one at a time. Put out 50+ of those.

Hey guys...
I was using my binoculars to check out a lighthouse and I saw people in the dunes. Looked to see where they came from. There was a ranger standing at a higher elevation that I happened to see him using binoculars to watch them.
I've walked past azzies (finally!) and it breaks my heart but I've had a ranger on my side watching me the last hour. Happened to see him while looking at shore birds.
Be smart they know what's up.
Binoculars saved me from being lost way back in Keizer. A worthwhile investment. Or even a camera if you have one; follow your gut not my advice but be safe guys and girls; every observer deserves to come home safe and sound every night unscathed.
Edit: If the couple who ran into me will be reading this, don't go where you said you were.

So right about PDX. Lots of new spots. Here are a couple from today. Some camouflaged under fallen leaves in high traffic park.

It was a fun weekend. Found some decent sized caps in King County. Happy to say that I have found my limit for the year.

Good stuff! I'm putting out spores this year for the first time. Have been mixing with water but your idea sounds easier... and lighter to carry! What sort of success have you had with this method in the past?

First year for this method. Before I used the stem butt tech for cardboard, but that was a lot of effort for just a little spread. This year I'm all about spores. Once this next flush comes in I'm going to try to get enough for a spore slurry. Time to paint the town.

Not harvesting anymore this year so I'll do the same with all the slug casualties and over mature ones I find once the season comes to a close.
