I do use a capsule machine I got off eBay. I can consistently get about .65-.71 into the '00's. If I do them by hand I can cram up to .85 into them.
@mr.piggy Yes, the '00's are a little large. I don't have any experience putting things up my ass, but I'm sure everyone enjoyed the tip on your preferred anal lube.
Last year I was fairly exclusive on only using '0' size caps, however they only hold .4-.5 so consumption of three was necessary to achieve optimum results. Two is more convenient albeit a bit of a hassle to swallow for a small percentage of people. No complaints though!

Oh, and 1550g

Found another small little patch with nice mature cyans about 10 ft Away from another patch I knew of. Funny thing is I found them in a place I least expect to look!

That happens sometimes. I've often found large fruitings in healthy colonies less than 1 block from popular spots. Often in well known places like campuses and public parks.

Ok you know I shouldn't have said anything.  For science right.  Also great for proper scientific measure plus many other benefits.  My bad.  Those need a proper label and date though.

The first active I found played out like that too. I rested my head on my walking stick and boom hello. If I hadn't taken but a brief moment I would've walked right by. Just a bit over was a little more, maybe ten feet max 15.

Aztec, I love the picture. The far right and far left are good examples for stages of growth vs full mature. Thank you, it is greatly appreciated. Habitat shots are A+

Went back after dark, still there...Phew, but too much car traffic to feel comfortable, so will be back...I have to assume that since so many mature fruits were present, no one else has located these...I will keep my fingers crossed until I can procure.

Has anyone had any luck finding anything active in linn/lane/marion counties east of I-5 in oregon? To see you all talking about the end of the season when it seems like it hasn't even started out this way has me worried. All I've found this year are birch boletes.

So I found a new patch of Cyans today with a lot of pins. I'm gonna let it sit for a bit before I harvest, but I was curious as to how long it takes for Cyans to mature? How long should I wait to go back?

Dont listen to people talking about the end.  The season starts and ends differently depending on your location.  Im in the Willamette Valley and while they have been fruiting since the end of september, the weather is just starting to be perfect for a fruitful season.  Last year a patch I found fruited even after the first freeze because the weather warmed up after the freeze.  I ended up picking them until early or mid Jan(dont exactly remember how late it was...)

I was reading an article about Dec/Jan hunting and apparently azzies grow past the new year for obvious reasons. Also mentioned some odd random areas [edit: for cyans] like clothes dryer vents and such. Mjshroomer posted a picture here of just that.. I don't know if it holds true here, but we would find mushrooms growing past the Halloween frost in MN. If I saw a random area melted and kept warm on wood chips I'd still check it in the winter. And I mean why not anyway. Electrical boxes that give off their own heat etc.

I don't recommend anyone go out off his or her way to get east of the mountains. If anything get out of there. Just check your weather and do some research. I've been driving 2-4 hours and overnighting it to go hiking and observing.

And at Rock Stack, no one can predict where you'll find your mushrooms, and yes boletes are all over the place. I can't go anywhere without spotting at least a few.

And yes hunting is very much like fishing.

A bad day hunting beats a good day working!

Brand new spots emerging all over the place!
No habitat shot but found in grass, hard wood substrate, nice bright white long stems!

So this is my first season hunting in the pnw (just moved here) and I've only found 2 patches of cyans.. it seems like the same posters here find new patches weekly!!! How?! I'm astounded. Is it luck? Skill? Just searching areas close to your other patches? One of my patches is man made in a neighborhood and the other is in a small public park.
