Re: bottom pic..
Did that cut one bruise nearly instantly? Only takes like 5 minutes right? My azzies bruised just looking in their direction. Trying to figure out if it varies from variety to variety.
That healthy myc at the bottom of the cluster is beautiful. Same with the two little ones to the right. Good example of how spores spread and fruit.

Pretty sure it is very potency related. Super potent mushrooms like cyans and azzies bruise the heaviest. Cyans seem to turn such a dark purple it looks black
I have never seen azzies but I imagine its pretty similiar. As appose to weaker mushrooms like pan cincts which barely bruise compared to woodlovers.

Some more stuff I saw today. Different spot than the one I mentioned previously.
First an Amanita, not sure on the specifics of it though.

Second up, The gymnopilus have begun fruiting again in earnest. I dig how these ones look.

Last but not least, a few cyans and a pinset that i hope survives because it is sure pretty.

I've found em in landscaping in neighbor hoods near by. My theory is the local police station I've seen cyan clusters in the chip beds and parking area. The post office is across the street so they both deliver spores regularly. The alder grove was just a natural good looking area, I've heard stories of em in places like that, so I had to take a look.
That and not sure if it happens to some of you guys but these lil suckers call out to me. I go where they tell me to go and then I don't listen well enough and step on a few...
They call out to me too. I feel I have mushroom!m senses after all this time I've spent hunting

Found the cyan fields..

Best of all

Some people with whom I've spoken to have said their dog is sometimes better than their well trained eye. One user has been doing it years and said it's the first time taking his dog and he found more than the owner did.
Thank you for the pictures that's awesome.
Oh yea he's been the ONLY reason Im Finally finding these beauties!!!
Check out this New patch He found on our Evening walk.. I just let him lead...
I love getting to see all these beauties on my walk, and picking a few to expand my spore bank !

Holy shit look at those, haha, give your dog a nice steak and a hug.
I just dosed the last L I'm going to have for what I presume to be a long time. I'm still coming up at hour 2 and it's going full throttle, haha, this is going to be a monster. I love it. I was getting CEVs in the shower of the place I'm revisiting tomorrow and some areas where I should've looked a little harder or stopped a little while longer. Also where some will be I'm certain, and what they looked like fruiting etc.
I was going to save this acid for hunting but figured if I'm 5 to 6 hours round trip I'd rather hunt sober. I've gotta remember to check my 6 every once in awhile and rescan where I was. I noticed just standing on my tiptoes or squatting down to scan helps immensely. Sometimes I wonder how I ever found pan subbs and morels. This new terrain and climate is a complete headspin.
By the way I didn't want to post it because it's embarrassing having been an eagle scout, but I had my cell phone battery die and got lost out in the woods. Like, lost. I had no battery so I couldn't look at pictures and trace back where I was. Looking too closely at the trail.
I've never been hiking coastal areas like this before. Thankfully I had a map... I walked for miles.. Be safe guys and girls. It's easy to get lost or nobody would ever go missing.
I hope next time I post I'm not Pubbing this place up and have some azzie pics. Have a great evening everyone, good luck as always.

So today was a pretty interesting day of hunting but successful none the less!
Local park patch I came across a few weeks ago..

Checked the super random patch I found towards the beginning of the season and its boomin alil more!

Now here is a new one for me and could use your guys help for a secondary ID on these.. So i seen a parkig lot next to a park that had a huge pile of alder so I decided to walk on top and around, towards the back of the pile I saw these..
I know these are Gyms of some sort but i need help identifiying what specimen of Gyms they are! The only green bluing was at the very base of the clump..
Keep up the great hunting everyone!

Gymnopilus luteofolius. It is common to have blueing on the caps, particularly where they have grown pressed together, or against debris, and it seems to be more common when there has been frost, but very often the only blueing will be in the bases and in small pins. This often goes for other active Gym. species also. The blueing will often appear green where the flesh is yellow. Congrats on the find.
--------------------
Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Luigi, I'd consider comparing your gyms with g.thiersii. I'm not seeing any signs of bluing. Maybe some more pics would help. The damage on the few open caps should show some greenish tint, or a spec of blue here or there.
I've noticed too that luteofolius dry to a nice golden color the more purple ones retain that purple hue, while theirsii seems to dry much darker like a chocolate brown losing all purple.
Killer finds though! You and everyone!
Singingtree way to make a introduction! Gorgeous pic.
