Was just out hunting when I came across some locals raping a well known spot here. They were assholes. Trying to tell me it's their patch and that they have been hunting it for 20 years when the park hasn't existed that long. Freaking cracked out punks. Of course they hadn't herd of the shroomery

On another note. I found a small patch of cyans to share pics of momentarily.

Found 116/2pds wet cyans yesterday. Left a few dozen pins, and a dozen or so real old ones. Perhaps in two weeks there'll be another good haul! Three blocks from my place

Better than just a fan: a space heater.

I've been leaving mine about 12" in front the space heater I heat this room with, directly in the airflow path. It's getting them cracker-dry in 8 - 12 hours, running on thermostat. I'm sure it would be quicker I let it run full blast.

So went back to the natural cyan spot for more pics.

Habitat

Here at the border of the alder and the cedar I found them.

Kinda wonder how that slug got up there. Must have been tough, so I left him.

I have a question for all you hunters.

How bright of a flashlight would make for good night hunting?

Also would getting a waterproof one be worth it?

I am looking at one at around the 3000 lumen range becouse I can find them for around 8$ w free shipping, considering getting a brighter more expensive one though.

Would appreciate any input, thanks in advance.

So I was out hunting yesterday was doing ok found a few. Nothing spectacular.

Then I decided to look further into a couple areas I skimed over the day before.
I was walking to a distant bed with woodchips when I saw a large cluster of mushrooms in the grass. No where near wood chips. Sure enough Lawn cyans.

The spot was in the wide open along a popular running with people and cars all around. One of the biggest patches I have found. The patch was like 10 feet wide by like 40 feet long.

Thanks N05482. This patch was epic. I wish I could've gotten a picture of the whole thing,  but you wouldn't of been able to see anything but grass. It appeared they were growing out of grass seed put down by parks and rec. That is only the third time Ive seen cyans growing out of grass. I will never pass up a spot were I see parks and rec applied grass seed again.

Oh and thanks N05482 for the ID on the gyms I found.

Yeah I couldn't stop looking at it today at work.
Does anyone know about the probability of this patch coming back next year? growing in grass like that. I assume they will run out of food quick.

I've found em in landscaping in neighbor hoods near by. My theory is the local police station I've seen cyan clusters in the chip beds and parking area. The post office is across the street so they both deliver spores regularly. The alder grove was just a natural good looking area, I've heard stories of em in places like that, so I had to take a look.

That and not sure if it happens to some of you guys but these lil suckers call out to me. I go where they tell me to go and then I don't listen well enough and step on a few...

Is it against the rules to ask if it's getting too cold on a certain Island on Lake Washington? Or is that too related to the weather?

Dont know what this is [Re: Moorning Due]
    #22468338 - 11/02/15 08:16 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

So I picked this today, can I get an ID? I dont know why my camera did this, but all the purple on my mushroom is ACTUALLY BLUE. The purple on the top of the cap is dark blue and underneath on the gills is a lighter but still dark blue. Thought this was a cyan but its way too big to be one?
