When I find some actives I'm painting this town white with myc. If I find azzies tomorrow I'll be doing the same as you big guy. One thing I noticed today is how easy it is to find pins the size of a fingernail, but I have to stop and look at my feet or change vantage points and I'm on top of mushrooms the size of a small dinner plate. I've started to occasionally turn around or change vantage points.. if I can find morels I can find these.

I've noticed a lot of my public locations have increased the amount of alder chips throughout the areas. Next year should be a good one.  This is one of my pots, so far so good this season.

Was a good Halloween, made few stops this morning, few new little patches popping up in the open chip beds now, and a phatty I returned to finish off.

Whoever is picking in my fave spot in Kirkland you're concentrated efforts on that small area are a waste, check out the rest of the park too...

And while taking my girls lil sister trick or treating, a nice newly mulched garden had some treats for me.

I took few pics of decorations to to not make it so obvious but these cints almost glowed under the porch light!

Happy Halloween y'all!

That Kirkland patch looks "Phat" all right. Dam.
Picked a few tonight. No pictures. I had a weird vibe (I usually listen to my gut) So decided not to mess around and went home.

Been out hunting when I can. Things are definitely looking better with the rain.

I believe these are gym's of some sort, found these guys once before but passed them up.

Can anyone help with the id?

Here are some cyans from the last week:

Then hunting yesterday started the day off with a decent little cyan patch

Then later on I found what I believe to be Ps. allenii.

This is my firtst time finding allenii. So im not 100% on the Id. I'm sure they are psilocybe though. Blue staining lighter than cyans. Stems not as white as cyans and hollow. Much more striated margin than cyans. More of a yellow color than brown like cyans. I have caps dropping prints right now, but purple spores were noticeable on the stems.

All in all yesterday was a good day for sure. And the season is starting to compare to last year. But still some  of my best producers have not flushed yet.

Those are allenii for sure. Congratulations! The differences you mentioned i.e. lighter cap color, striate, non wavy margins are what always gives them away as allenii. What part of the PNW are you in if you don't mind me asking?

The prints I've gotten from allenii in the Seattle Tacoma area have had a more brownish purple hue to them. Not as dark as cyan prints in my experience.

Ya I was pretty excited when I found them. They were in a Seattle park. About 50 feet from a cyan patch. In maybe 2 year old wood chips.

I will see what these prints look like this evening. But thanks for the heads up sk8. I am confident they are psilocybe. They look like a cross between Azurescens and cyanescens. Totally wasn't expecting this and almost steped on them.

Has anyone actually found any WILD Cyanescens this year? I have no problem finding them in public places, but I want to find them in there natural habitat.

Yeah I believe a few people have in this thread. N05482 did when I was with him looking for Azzy. Some say he found fruit that was spored by hunters looking for azzy. It's well known cyans love people and follow them very well.

Word. Unless planted by someone cyans almost never grow deep in the wilderness

I do agree that cyans love to follow people around. I've been patrolling a local old growth forest this year, but still no luck.

It's almost unheard-of these days to find them in the wilderness, and that's exactly why I want to find wild ones.

Yahh its a bit difficult to find the natural wild cyans, last time I found a wild cyan patch in the wild was three years ago, they were about 100-200 ft in the forest growing next to a stump of a fallen alder tree.. I have a place in mind for today that Im going to check out thats all natural fallen wood debri.

The parks I was going to are apparently closed today. Heading out to the coast west of Willy Valley. I'll let the journey guide me, not the want of mushrooms. :peace:

I hope you folks have a great day picking. Good luck to all of you on this beautiful day!
