Huh, now that you mention it, it does look solid dome shaped. I've never found alleni before and would love to check that off the bucket list. Thanks for sharing.

I never heard of em til I got on here, after a few years absence, then I found em my first trip to the coast...I still have to find Azzies, liberty caps and others, but I've at least checked on cyans, cubes, stunzii's, and baeos...

I've dubbed the alleni, Blue Boobies...they get a gnarly blue... and they look like Boobies with blue nipples...

My little backyard patch of apparent cyans has produced two new ones. Like the others, they are growing from rotten old lumber - no wood chips anywhere near. This one's growing from a half-buried old 2x4:

Why should the spores be mixed with water? I took a bunch of cyan prints on brown paper and have been just flicking the spores off the paper in likely looking spots. Is that not going to work as well? Why not? Thanks.

Well today on my way home I took a quick detour through a park nearby where i had found scattered patches throught the park last year. Basically all of october it has not popped so I forsure thought it was donezo haha. But to my suprise and my hunch due to the rain it was in full force fruiting! Even found a new patch while I was at it! Old spot (looks like it just started to fruit again):

New patch I came across in a spot Ive had my eyes on for a few years but either was just growing mycelium or i was to late everytime but not this year!

Today was definetly a good day! Keep up the hunt everyone i love seeing all the habitat shots and different specimens!

Im not sure who's signature has "the hunter has become the hunted" but always made me laugh. Maybe the "rapists have became the raped"?.
But serious though other than not being a greedy fuck, I don't rape patches for fear of punishment. Rape the patch and get raped. Pick gently, spread spores, take care of the shroom and the shroom will take care of you.
-------------------- These pics are the same spot, 1) wide angle 2) half zoom 3) full zoom 4) close up of clusters Can you spot them in the first pic?

Do you guys just go park your car near a park and go walk around in it? Or do you just walk around random neighborhoods on foot?

Both but taking along walk is when, In my experience, I find the most/biggest patchs.
