Word. My yard is usually late in the season. It's funny i tell everyone i no that the beds outside my gate/fence are for whoever. Nobody has ever taken me seriously. Found some nice fruits today. Just alittle late. On another note: If anybody out there Knows or see's Luigi9. Please tell him to go pick up the Dehydrator at Fed ex. They have tried to deliver 4 times last week and they won't stop blowing me up. I don't want to tell them to send it back but also am starting to look like an idiot not knowing the guys name (Besides Luigi9) or have any other details about who i shipped a package to. They can't get into your building so PLEASE just go pick the MFer up. Not trying to be a dick but I didn't want anything for it and even paid to have it shipped. Please just get a hold of fed ex. Thank you. RS Book

Didn't mean to reply to specific comments, just posting from my phone, and not very efficient...these are just some random actives and non-actives I found at the coast yesterday...speaking of non-actives, this board seems quiet the last couple days...

Hello friends! I am a long time lurker, first time poster, and with the help of you fine fungal folk I do believe I have found my very first cyan patch. Park setting but just outside of the grass. Heavy leaf cover over tons of pins and fruit bodies (felt like I should have taken my boots off) and I didn't want to poke around too much without intent to pick but I have one mature cap spore printing right now and I have some pictures to share. Much love

What a beautiful day for finding mushrooms. Very healthy patch here, although I think there are other's coming to it too because some are mangled.

Went to a cyan patch today that was fruiting really well after our first rains and found most of the mushrooms I left have completely bruised caps which are kinda dried out. Is this a common occurence? has anyone seen this? it was almost the entire patch, save a couple or so... I hope its due to the sun drying them out, but Ive never seem them bruise from drying.
Is this something to worry about? curious what yalls thoughts are..

Thanks! love all the finds by the way!

I opened one of em up because it seemed a little rotted or something and it was kinda hollow and had a bunch of dirt inside.. is THIS normal? are we eating dirt everytime we munch on them?
curious

I came across a neat P. stuntzii phenotype, It is the largest I've yet to find and has a super wide and flattish stipe, as well as a wavy cap.

Islandcoast Nice find!!!! that's a fatti !
WhistyTak When did you pick that lil one? The dirt may be from the rain we just got. ?? I checked some Stuntzii today and the stems were very dirty all up in there. I'm assuming from the doooshing we got on sunday.
Those dark caps I've seen after a cold snap on cyans. But it's not that cold yet so.... - They were either too wet or its from the dry weather .. ? This past spring I witnessed some Ovoid caps getting real dark blue green because they were drying out. Once some rain hit they returned to normal ovoid color and seemed fine till it dried out again & they got all dark blue again..
That's my 2 cents

They got too cold. I'd pull as many good ones as you can find, because they are going to turn to mush soon.

These are amazing. Is there any possibility they are ovoids?

I think your mushrooms aborted because they got attacked by bug, that dirt looking stuff looks to me like larva and eggs.

blazingsaddles said: Hi folks, New to the forum from chilliwack bc. Looking to meet with fellow hunters in the are. So far I havnt found anything this year thinking of going to the island for a gander. Havnt tried yvr, queen Elizabeth park or deep cove yet.
I've found actives on the island and on the lower mainland. The island gets a lot less rain than the mainland so my guess is its probably not worth taking a ferry to hunt (although Vic is beautiful!). it took me 3 years to finally find em, just keep at it. With all that farmland out there, I bet you'd have a good shot at liberty caps!

Here's my yearly contribution to the thread. Some Psilocybe Baeocystis from the same patch I got them from last year. I spotted a few people with paper bags scanning over some grassy areas near by. I asked them "baeos?". They paused for a minute and said " yes". We then chit chatted about our spot and picked for about an hour. All in all it was a good time. It always nice to meet pickers who respect the spot just as much as you.
Good luck hunting everyone. And good finds so far.
