Word. I've been getting lazy about putting all the specimen I see through the wringer. I'll look that one up.

I assume what helped propagate this Psathyrella hirta is what promoted its tenancy in the vicinity. Thank you for the info.

for those of you who are new to azures here is an example of a look alike that can grow among azures.. I don't know what it is and it looks more like an azure in the picture than in person.
when the azures are more dry like they are now these things look more like an azure but the dead giveaway is the stem.

Nice job man! They sure are a fun mushroom to look for, beats looking for cyans in public parks IMHO.

Went out hunting today with Specops2594 & another bud - found some nice little patches hiding in dunegrass, blackberry brambles, & dead wood

We also found a very lovely & prolific mature patch of cyanescens under some rhododendron but we got chased off with a hose before we could score pics/fully pick them, haha... he coulda just asked us to leave, ya know?

All in all, a pretty nice haul...
-------------------- Found Species: Ps. Azurescens, Ps. Cyanescens, Ps. Baeocystis, Ps. Semilanceata, Pan. Cinctulus

It looks similar to the Bolbitius titubans I have come across many times in my journeys.

Panaelous cinctulus. Was hoping for P. semilanceata but these are also nice to find.

They were all over in my friends farm land. Every corner we turned had them.

Was a good haul indeed. I finally caved in a went out and bought a Nesco food dehydrator just for the occasion. It was cool finally meeting another hunter from the shroomery and exchanging our knowledge with each other. Hope to do it again soon

First I want to say thank you everyone for making this thread what it is. I could not have found my first patches of Cyans without it and that's no doubt!!
My first find ever, was about a week ago, although I only half counted it as a true find. I was out hunting and saw another hunter rustling around in the grass and thought I would take a look. I found a pretty big spread out patch with 100's of pins in the dense grass. I was a little bummed thats how I found my first patch so only took a few matures to confirm ID.

I was very sad when I returned the next day to check on things to find the patch absolutely trampled and raped. No pins in site, dug up mycelium and the grass and bushes mashed and ripped apart. It was insane and I'm praying my presence didn't give away the patch to someone else. I definitely won't be returning to that patch. Wanted to pound a stake and hang a rape whistle from it.
But yesterday I found my first Cyan patch myself! Someones tip about wetland restoration areas gave me some great ideas! Only found a few matures, no pins and everything was real dry. Seems like Seattle may be in a little bit of a stall until some more rain comes.
Heres my old dry balls cyans:
-------------------- These pics are the same spot, 1) wide angle 2) half zoom 3) full zoom 4) close up of clusters Can you spot them in the first pic?

Pulled the last several pounds out of a favorite, albeit an extremely public locale this morning. The rain should bring a nice second flush for the many locations.
