Your pics bring back memories joust. Memories of looking at your beautiful pics from past seasons.

What is that cluster sitting on at the bottom of the photo btw? Is that like a glass tube they are partly stuffed into to hole em in place? Interesting.
ahhhh, that is a tube of clear and blue stardust borosilicate tubing =)

Hi all, I was hoping to get a suggestion on where to look for those mushrooms. I understand that psilocybe cyanescens often grow on say ornamental mulch, but then I see a lot of pictures of their habitats and notice they look more like they might be in a forest. Now, I've been on plenty of forest walks in my area, but I haven't seen any active mushroom species (to my knowledge.) For reference, I live across the pond from Seattle. Am I wasting my time looking in the forest? Is there any good habitat photos? According to mycology.wiki.com, it's not very common that they're out in the woods, at least in Washington state, as opposed to NoCal. Am I only supposed to be looking at landscaped locations? Because I'd like to stay out of sight. I can travel to another region, but is it worth driving out east to a popular ski resort or down to another ski resort next to that big mountain? Or even up northeast to that other big ski resort?

Try wetland restoration areas or super wet/low overgrown grassy areas, they like to grow underneath clumps of matted grass. Also grassy/foresty areas with bark-dust trails, they like to grow where the woodchips have gotten grown over with shrubs and grass and stuff. Personally, I haven't had much luck with cultivated ornamental beds, but obviously a lot of people do...

Nice finds everybody, its poppin early this year! Such monster patches even before the frost. I was proud to find my first patch that ive found all by myself and it was a pretty big haul about 70 mature cyanescens. But then I come here and see you guys finding massive patches ands get jealous lol. Even though I have upwards of 100 dried mushrooms saved up I am super jealous of you guys. I'm pretty knowledgeable but some of you are true professionals. Way to be fucking awesome guys I aspire to be as talented as you one day.

Found one of my spots covered in a giant pile of woodchips. I was really bummed but then I found two new spots at the same park. I guess it was a good trade off. This first one was really dry and hidden in sticker bushes. The other one is just taking off. Can't wait to find more spots this park is full of patches ripe for the picking

This patch has been soooo good to me! Definitely a testament to how productive a patch can be when you treat it well by: watching where you step, selective picking with a knife for mature fruits only, and transplanting a few mycelium chips nearby.

So I pretty much killed it today.

Then I found for the first time ever in my 7 years hunting.... P. stuntzii!!! Plus, it was only a 10 minute drive from my house in a park ive hunted multiple times before. Quite odd but im excited to mark another off the list! P. Stuntzii
